It is the policy of the Kansas Council of Health-System Pharmacists to insure balance, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all its individually or jointly presented continuing education programs. All faculty participating in any continuing pharmacy education programs are expected to disclose any real or apparent conflict(s) of interest that may have any bearing on the subject matter of the continuing pharmacy education program. Disclosure pertains to relationships with any pharmaceutical companies, biomedi-cal device manufacturers, or other corporations whose products or services are related to the subject matter of your presentation topic.

The intent of this disclosure is not to prevent a speaker with a potential conflict of interest from making a presentation, but to let the audience know about the relationship before the presentation. It is intended that financial interests or affiliations be openly identified so that, with the full disclosure of the facts, the attendees may form their own judgments about the presentation.

There are no faculty disclosures to report.

MISSIONThe mission of the Kansas Council of Health-System Pharmacists Foundation is to advance public health and pharmacy practice in hospitals and health systems throughout Kansas by supporting and promoting research, training and education.

VISIONThe vision of the KCHP Foundation is to support the provision of safe and effective medication use in Kansas hospitals and health systems through:

1. Facilitation and promotion of research that leads to measurable improvements in safe and effective medication use,

2. Development and support of education and training programs designed to target health system and societal issues impacting safe and effective medication use,

3. Reward and recognition of institutions and individuals (pharmacists, technicians, residents and students) who have achieved excellence in performance, practice and/or leadership related to medication use in Kansas.

FOUNDATION ACTIVITIESThe KCHP Foundation was founded in December 2010. In that short amount of time, the Foundation has hosted a golf tournament fundraiser, Royals tailgate and multiple gift basket fundraisers. Look for the gift basket silent auction at this year’s Annual Meeting, and the Fundraiser at Touche Nightclub both of which will support the KCHP Foundation and MSHP R&E Foundation. The KCHP Foundation is also an official Annual Meeting program sponsor.

POSTER AWARDSThe KCHP Foundation is involved in multiple aspects of the poster sessions at the Annual Meeting. Volunteers from the Foundation Board coordinate the review of abstracts submitted for presentation for originality, methodology, and applicability to health system pharmacy. Posters presented at the meeting are judged and awards in each of the following categories are awarded, as applicable: original presentation, encore presentation, and student presentation.

CONTRIBUTIONSThe KCHP Foundation has many ideas to further it’s mission and vision in the years to come. These goals cannot be reached without the support and generosity of KCHP members and the facilities at which they practice.Consider investing in the future of health-system pharmacy in Kansas by making a tax-deductible contribution.
