Pre K Class

• Pre K class – This class is for children aged 3&4 – The theme is to learn about Hinduism in a

FUN way • Teachers

Kindergarten Class

• Alphabet Safari – The kids will use the alphabet to learn about

dharma – Teachers

GRADE 1 Classes

• Ramayana – Through the story of Rama, the children will

learn crucial values they can use in their lives – Teachers

• Lakshmi Sekhar • Smita Gite


Grades 2-3 Class

• Bala Bhagavatham – The kids will learn about the

divine stories from Bhagavatam, in an age-appropriate manner

Grades 4-5 Class

• Symbolism in Hinduism – Why does Lord Ganesha have a large

stomach? Have you noticed the jewel on Lord Vishnu’s crown?

– The kids will learn about how symbols are used to convey meaning in Hinduism

Grade 6-7 Class

• PO Box Mr. God – Who is God? What is God? Where is God? – The children will explore these key questions,

and when the are ready, they will write a letter to Mr. God

Grade 8-9 Class

• Hindu Culture – Why do Indian women wear bindu? Why do

Hindus greet each other with “namaste”? What does it mean to follow dharma?

– This class teaches students about Hindu culture

Grades 10-12 Class

• Gita, Chapters 7-12 – The Gita is known across the world as

a shining jewel of Hindu philosophy – The students in this class will

continue learning from this divine work

Youth Seva

• Our Youth Seva program teaches our children to think about sharing and caring

• Last year, the group raised over $1200 for CORD

• Our Community Seva Program allows everyone an opportunity to serve

PARENT SATSANG

• Balavihar is designed to teach children,but the adults are not forgotten!

• Our Assembly is intended for the whole family

• From 11am to 12pm, we have a Parent Satsang led by a Guru well-versed in Vedanta


Jnaana Yagnas

• CMP holds spiritual discourses several times a year.

• Chinmaya Misssion Acharyas from all over the world come to share their wisdom through evening lectures about various topics

CMP Student’s Day!!

• It’s early in the Balavihar year, but please mark key dates related to the annual Student’s Day – Students Day

• JUNE 1, 2014 (SUNDAY, 1030am to 4 pm) – Note that this year, we’ll have Students Day on a

SUNDAY – We will identify a separate venue for Student’s

Day, to accommodate the large number of students – stay tuned for details

– Rehearsals for Student’s Day will be held on the first 3 Sundays in May (May 4, 11, and 18), from 12-6pm


We strive to be on time! Please do the same

• Swami Chinmayananda, our Mission’s founder, made it a ‘religion’ to be on time, and we seek to follow his example

• Please arrive to Assembly at 10:25 am or earlier.

• NEW: At 10:30 am, doors to the auditorium will be closed. If you arrive after 10:30 am, please view the Assembly using the large monitor in the lunch area


CMP Family Camp October 25-27, 2013

• SAVE THE DATE: OCTOBER 25-27, 2013 • We are very excited about our first CMP FAMILY • CAMP. • This is an ideal opportunity for the whole family

to participate in spiritual education • Chinmaya family camps are famous for having

age-appropriate teaching and for being a lot of fun for the whole family
