Moon Trek (3rd-5th Graders)Friday, September 11 • Adventures on the Gorge • $40 • Children are invited to attend this fun, all-evening activity! We will leave Oakhurst Campus and drive to Fayetteville, WV to participate in a high ropes and zip line adventure course at night with the course illuminated in lights. Flyers are available online and at BASE Camp. Parents must sign a waiver in order for their child to participate. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, September 9.

Dear Bible Center Church,

What a joy to be here and be able to worship with you this morning! If you’re brand new, even better; we’re glad you decided to come and check us out! My name is Chad Cowan, and since May of 2013, I’ve been the Care Pastor here at Bible Center Church.

It has been a challenging week for our church body, and when challenges hit us, it’s easy to ask where God is in all this. This week, we’re going to talk about joy. God has shown us in the Scriptures where

we can find it, and just how much He wants us to have.

There is a question that lies behind everything you do, everything you say, and every choice you make. On a deeper level, it even determines your very identity. This question is, what do I believe to be true about God? We will be using a combination of Credo House’s web-based Introduction to Theology program, to which each class member will have access. In addition, we’ll be talking about how each and every day we are living out the underlying theology we believe. Some of the questions we’ll tackle include:

· What is theology?· What wrong ideas might I have about God?· What is postmodernism, and why do so many seem to

subscribe to it?Whether we realize it or not, if you’ve had an interest in some of the foundational doctrines of Christianity and how they work themselves out in our lives, then you’ll enjoy this class.

Financial Peace University (10-week class ending October 28)Mr. Romie Mundy Room 3101-02

We all need a plan for our money. Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University (FPU) teaches God’s ways of handling money, equipping us to be faithful disciples with the blessings He has given us. Through video teaching, class discussions, and interactive, small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you’ve dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more.On average, participants in two of Bible Center’s FPU classes last semester had a turnaround of approximately $10,000 in just nine weeks!

It has been said that the Holy Spirit is the Cinderella of the Trinity–long ignored with very few showing interest in Him.However the Christian Life is the life of God’s Spirit in us. Without a moment-by-moment reliance on the Holy Spirit, this level of living is impossible.Join us as we examine major life questions:

The War Room Bible Study (Starting Aug. 19)This study covers topics like lukewarmness, accountability, gospel and grace, spiritual warfare, and prayer.

Fervent: A Woman’s Battle Plan to Serious, Specific, and Strategic Prayer by Priscilla Shirer (Starting Sept. 23)You have an enemy...and he’s dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. This book study is your chance to strike back with prayer--a weapon that really works. Fervent is a hands-on, knees-down, don’t-give-up action guide to practical, purposeful praying.

Classes will begin each Wednesday night at 6:30 PM with a special half-hour prayer time led by each of the teachers in their classrooms.

Our Equip classes are designed with 2 Timothy 3:16-17 in mind to provide you the opportunity to learn practical application of Bible knowledge for use in everyday life. You will be able to immediately apply what you learn as you continue to grow in your

Christian walk, so you will be better equipped to serve in Jesus’ name in a watching world.

Joshua Bacchus New Bible Center School Principal

Bible Center Church is delighted to announce Joshua Bacchus as the new Principal of Bible Center School! Mr. Bacchus has over 13 years of experience as an educator and leader in the Boone County school system. Most recently, he served as Director of Maintenance & Facilities, overseeing operations of schools throughout the county. He holds a Master’s Degree in Leadership Studies and a Superintendent Certificate from

Marshall University. Prior to that, he received his undergraduate degree in Special Education with a minor in Bible Studies from Clearwater Christian College. Mr. Bacchus is known for his strong character and principle, as well as being a trustworthy and inspirational leader. Mr. Bacchus grew up in a Christian home, graduated from Cross Lanes Christian School, and is a born-again believer. He has been married to Jessica for more than 13 years now. Together, they have three children: Aiden (age 10), Blake (age 8), and Caylin (age 6). Mr. Bacchus and his wife are members of the Bible Center Church, where he currently serves as a deacon, an usher, and a member of the AVL team. Welcome, Mr. Bacchus and thank you for serving the Lord in this way!
