Amélie is holding a rhythmic gymnastics ball. It can be of different colours.Amélie, Séléna and Carla practice this sport (look at their pictures below)This is a sport in which you manipulate different apparatuses :

Mike would like you to know our class has 21 students 10 boys and 11 girls. Briana is the only one that goes horseback riding occasionally. About 10 other students have gone only once while at a Fair.Piper wanted you to know we play the same type of video games. Nolan placed 2nd at the State BMX Competition earlier this school year. He will be going to Florida this week to compete in the BMX Regional Competition. We will let you know how he does. BMX is bicycle racing on dirt hills with alot of turns. Have you ever seen it? This Saturday, October 31 most of us will be going trick-or-treating for Halloween. Do you celebrate Halloween?I told the class you are off school until Nov. Kyle wants to know why?Since we are still having trouble with our LCD they did not get to see the gymnastic video yet.Mike was wondering if you liked school? 11 said they do, 3 said kind of, 6 said they don't like it. However, they all kept changing their minds.

On Wednesday, October 21 at the Embassy of the United States, Mr. Blanquer, Rector of the Academy of Créteil, received and congratulated all the teachers involved in language exchanges with the United States.

This language exchange project is funded and operated jointly by the Acadzmy of Créteil and the Ministry of Education of the State of Delaware.

Five schools in Seine et Marne benefit from this action. Ms. Tessier has received the diploma attesting to the quality of the exchanges made with the class of Mrs. Nancy Logan.

After the exchange by mail and blog, students will talk live with the system of the videoconference.

6 of us have already ridden a BMX, half of us know what it is. Congratulations to Nolan ! How was his competition in Florida?


Tristan and Baptiste would like you to know they had a soccer competition at school during lunch time. 6 boys of our class took part to it. Unfortunately, the 5th grades won.Only 8 of us celebrated Halloween : Eva dressed up like a witch and Ervin like a vampire.In France, we usually work 6 or 7 weeks at school, then we have 2 weeks off. That’s why we were on vacation. But we won’t have time off when you’ll celebrate Thanksgiving. A lot of us like school over here : 20 said they like it, 4 said they don’t really do.Baptiste would like to know if you watch catch on TV ? And also what you’d like to get for Christmas ?Séléna was wondering what kind of broadcasts you watch on TV.Shaineze would like to know how you keep your school tests. We are sorry for taking so long to answer back. Last week we had off on Wednesday and a 1/2 a day on both Thursday and Friday

Erin said at least you had fun playing soccer against the 5th grade. Kasani wants you to know you will probably win next time. Everyone wishes you good luck for the next compitition.

16 of us went trick-or-treating. Bryant, Piper and Michael do not celebrate Halloween either.Alexis, who is one of the smallest in the class wore a blow up Sumo Wrester costume. She was 6 feet wide!

For Christmas Kasani just wants to be surprised, she doesn't care what she gets. 5 girls wrote they want a DSI. I only let them tell one thing they wanted. Gabby would like more games for her Wii. What is the most popular gift your class wants?

Jonice likes to watch Brain Surge, it is a game show that tests your brain, many of the other kids watch it too. i Carly is Monica's favorite show, most of the class watches also. Most of Desmonds favorite shows are on Cartoon Network. What do you enjoy watching?

We don't keep our tests. Each week we take home a big white envelope with our graded papers. After our parents look through the papers we return them in the envelop which they have signed. Mrs. Logan keeps them for parent conferences.

Nolan would like you to know he was in 6 events over the 3 day competition. He placed 2nd in two event. He also earn a 3rd and 4th place. The other two didn't go as well.

We aren't sure what Baptiste was asking when you wrote do we watch catch on TV? Are you talking about baseball? We just had the World Series which is the baseball championship. Mrs. Logan was happy the New York Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies. She grew up in New York.

We get 30 minutes for recess at 10:35 AM and are the only grade outside. How long is your recess?

What kind of lunch does your cafeteria offer? Kyle packs his lunch every day because he doesn't

like the cafeteria lunches!

Monica was wondering if you get your pictures taken each year at school so your family can buy them? We just got ours back.

Dear friends,

Sorry for answering so late. We had all our graded papers for the end of the first period, and were all very busy... I gave my students their report cards yesterday. We now have a two-week break for Christmas : everybody is tired or sick, so we all deserve it !! It’s snowing since Thursday, and it’s getting very cold here. What’s the weather like by you ?

The most popular gift the students want for Christmas is also video games. Some of them want a DSI too. All of them would like to be with their family.

The students enjoy watching sport on TV : soccer, wrestling. They also like watching “Survivor” and TV series like Desperate Housewives or the Simpsons. They want to know if you watch MTV.

At school, we get 20 minutes for recess twice a day (at 10:00 am and at 3:00 pm) All the grades are outside at the same time. For lunch we get a starter (we can choose one starter among two), a main

course, cheese or yoghurt, and a dessert (it can be a fruit or a cake)

We also get our pictures taken each year at school : we got ours back a couple of weeks ago. For the first time, our school organized a Christmas market this year. Every grade made things to sell, so that we get money for the 5th grade to go on a 10 day-school trip. Our class handmade Christmas balls for Chrtistmas tree.

We really enjoyed talking to you last time. We hope to do it again very soon !

Dear Friends,

We had snow but not as much as you had : only about 5 cm, several times. It was hard to drive because of the black ice, but we still had to go to school ! We had snowball fights during recess, and we built snowmen. There was an ice rink in our town during Christmas holidays : some of us tried to skate, but they fell ! Some of us are also going skiing during the winter break (Feb 19th – March 8th) in the French and Swiss Alps. Do you have a break ? Do you go skiing ?

Last month, we went to a famous Paris museum called “Le musée Beaubourg”. There we saw famous contemporary paintings, such as Picasso, Matisse, Paul Klee or Fernand Léger. We really enjoyed it. On the last floor of the building, we had a panoramic view of Paris and its buildings : the Eiffel Tower, the Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame,... Where do you plan to go for your school trips ?

We finished reading Matilda before the break, and most of us liked it, though some chapters were quite “long” to read. We found Matilda was a very smart girl, and that her parents and school director are really mean to her. They don’t realize she’s much smarter than they are ! Some of us played pranks like Matilda did : Sokona put some soap on her sister’s bed ! Anna’s brother put some Ketchup in her hair. He also had a bucket full of water spilt all over her ! They have a French version of the movie, but we haven’t seen it yet. Have you ?Your French friends

Bon Jour,

My and I are all at home for the third day in a row! We are in the middle of our 3rd snow storm this winter. The first storm, 21 inches/ 53+ cm of snow, was just before our Winter Break and we got 3 extra days off because of it. When we returned from Winter Break we had some more snow which led to one day off, one day when we had an hour delay and another day with a 2 hour delay. The latest storms have come within 3 days of each other. The fisrt storm was predicted to be a blizzard which meant the winds would be very strong. As a result most of the schools and businesses in Delaware scheduled to be open for only a half day on Friday 2/5. That storm left 2 feet/ 61 centimeters of snow in Dover. The lastest storm started last night and as of 2:30PM my time it is still snowing!All this snow is not typical for Delaware. We will probably be out of school the rest of this week. Don't get excited that we have all these days off, we have to make them all up! They are usually added to the end of the school year.

Have you had any snow this winter?

I heard you went on a trip to a musuem in Paris. What did you see? There are 3 trips I am hoping to take my on during May and June.

How are you enjoying Matilda? It was a bit too hard for several of my students so we decided not to read it. Do they have a French version of the movie? I have seen it several times and really liked it.

Have you ever played any pranks on someone like Matilda did? What were they?

What are your thoughts on how Matilda copes with her problems (uncaring parents, mean brother and Mrs. Trunchbole)? Not sure if I spelled her name correctly.

It has been difficult for us to write as my projector is broken and we have been trying to catch upon all the work we have missed due to all the time we have missed. Since it doesn't look like my projector will be fixed I will be having the kids come to my computer 2-3 at a time to read your blog.

I will be send Mrs. Tessier an email with some pictures of the snow.
