Analysing: If Mars had oxygen could a chicken survive?Unlike Earth, Martian dirt is very hostile towards plant life. Unless we can genetically alter plants to grow upon the red planets soil. The chicken could eat plants, but food would be extremely scarce. How about water? Water is supposed to be fresh when it is drunk. It is like us drinking salt water. What happens to us? We get sick right. But no one would be able to help it.

Applying: What will happen to a snake in winter?

Snakes and many other reptiles find shelter in holes or burrows, and spend the winter inactive, or dormant. This is similar to hibernation.

Snakes crawl into caves, hollow logs, or other animal's burrows to hibernate. Sometimes there will be as many as a hundred snakes in one cave.
