Can you identify which bear is the Brown Bear, the Polar Bear, and the Grizzly Bear?

GRIZZLY BROWN

POLAR

Grizzly Bear

• Big Claws- Hunting, climbing, and digging• Keen sense of smell- track their prey• HYBERNATION• Muscular hump on it’s back- helps it run faster• They will eat almost anything- plants, roots, fish, etc.

Brown Bear

• Both the Grizzly Bear and the Polar Bear are a sub-species of the Brown Bear that have adapted to living in a different environment.

• Long claws for digging • Flat teeth- grind and crunch their food not bite• Likes to eat fish, fruit and insects

Polar Bear

• Swim- Large front paws and a long neck• Largest Bear species• Eats large mammals- seals, walrus, • Thick dense fur with an undercoat to stay warm• Skin is black to absorb the warmth from the sun• Hunts in both the water and on the ice• Females hibernate in the winter, not males
