The title “Blurryface” is crossed out apart from the “u” which highlights that there’s a bit of the lead singers thoughts and feelings inside of the listener. The colour pallet is quite limited as there are only three colours on the cover. The colour red connotes passion which the band has for their music and the danger of the lead singers mind which is implied as being against him within the songs. The colour black connotes the formality and mystery of the album. In addition to this, the colour white connotes purity and cleanliness. This could suggest that by singing and writing these songs the lead singer is cleansing himself of the negativity within himself. The different patterns on the album represent the different songs on the album, which the fans will recognise. The title “Don’t Panic” is in the form of a speech bubble this gives the audience a small narrative to the album. Additionally, the picture further enhances the narrative of the album. Furthermore, the picture creates a scene of panic which contradicts to the title. The colour brown connotes stability and security which, again, contrasts with the albums picture.

This could suggest that by singing and writing these songs the lead singer is cleansing himself of the negativity within

himself.

The text is in the same plain font which highlights the simplicity of the album cover.

The picture is only a third of the cover. The blue background connotes the confidence of the woman in the picture and the loyalty of the fans. Furthermore, the pink gum links to the album title which is “American Candy” and highlights the fact that the title is in reference to females. The pink colour also connotes intimacy and tenderness which could be the characteristics of the woman which the songs are written about.
