Use of Lighting #1Scene description: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACUpr5GvVsE The “V” speech.

Type of Lighting: use of lighting on V’s face. There is always half his face that is in the shadows and the other is white and vibrant.

Purpose/Meaning: He is a vigilante they are portraying the view of both not lawful yet in the right.

Agree? Why or why not? : I fully agree. The scene is powerful and yet simple. But the way the lighting is used to show his freedom side and his dark unlawful side. He stands for right but in order to get what is right he must do what is not proved as legal or ok by the general populace.

Agree? Why or why not? Agree this is the best way to show what is going on everywhere. What is the effect of the film on populace and what is the effect to those in question. How are they reacting and what are they going to do.

Type of Editing Technique: The Wipe

Purpose/Meaning: The camera changes with the swipe of his knife. Agree? You follow the swish of the blade, as it strikes the brick you follow the blade down and then the screen changes and you see him put it in his belt. The change is done with the downward swipe of the knife. Hence wiping that shot away.
