Break-proof and non-aging jars

made of robust stainless steel.

Transparent jars made of polycar-

bonate allow for optimum monito-

ring of colony growth during incu-

bation process.

The lids are made of UV-resistant

plastic or transparent polycarbo-

nate, equipped with two corner

valves incl. chemical-resistant

tube clips for flushing and vacuum

hoses (5 mm inner Ø) and with

manometer for exact control of

the vacuum or overpressure (-1 to

+0.2 bar).

Lids as custom-made versions,

e.g. made of special material or

equipped for high temperatures,

without valves/manometer etc.

are available on request.

Optional racks for various Petri

dishes, multiwell plates or test

tubes available.

For comfortable operation, the

Petri dish racks are equipped with

special holders for GasPack-Kits.

High-quality equipment, various

models – see Technical Data for

more details.

Three mmethods ffor rreaching ttherequired ggas aatmosphere.

After inoculation, Petri dishes or

test tubes are loaded in the corre-

sponding optional rack and after-

wards exposed to anaerobic

atmosphere.

The most economic method

without any chemical accessories:

Evacuating the jars by using a

vacuum pump and filling it with

the required gas (e.g. nitrogen).

In addition, it is possible to apply

the method of flushing the

Anaerobic jars for 5 minutes with

gas.

As an alternative, the anaerobic

conditions may be reached by

using chemical anaerobe systems

(GasPack-Kits).

For anaerobe, microaerophilic or

CO2 atmosphere. GasPack-Kits for

operation without adding water,

without catalyst, no H2-produc-

tion.

Requested quantities of bags for

different types of Anaerobic jars:

- "small" 1 bag

- "large" 2 bags

- "standard" 1 bag

- "crystal” 1 bag

- "eco" 1 bag

Anaerobiosis iindicator ttest aandcatalyst bbags.

For use of GasPack-Kits "anaer-

obic" we offer corresponding indi-

cator tests for monitoring the rea-

ched anaerobic atmosphere.

Anaerobic jar “eco” has been

especially designed for operation

with GasPack-Kits. The lid is

equipped with a ventilation screw

as well as a clip for holding the

indicator test.

The indicator tests are moistened

and placed in the clip for incuba-

tion together with the Petri dis-

hes. As soon as the anaerobic

conditions are reached, the indi-

cator test decolours.

If an atmosphere providing hydro-

gen production is requested, we

may offer corresponding safety-

catalysts in bags made of stain-

less steel wire.

For reaching anaerobic atmosphe-

re by help of hydrogen, we recom-

mend threefold evacuation and fil-

ling with nitrogen. After the third

filling procedure, 5 % hydrogen

may be filled into the Anaerobic

jar.

tschuett countcolony counter

Usually, the most time-consumingpart in microbial analysis is coun-ting Petri dishes. The schuettcount colony counter was desi-gned to facilitate this task consi-derably and will become essentialequipment in your microbiologicallaboratory.

Easy, rapid and reliable countingof bacterial colonies is no longertrouble when using this device.

The schuett count colony counteris suitable for reliable and effi-cient counting ofl bacterial colonies growing onnutrient agar in Petri dishes of 60to 150 mm diameterl bacterial colonies growing onfilter disks/agar or nutrient disksl phage plaques growing onagar

Transparent medium or filterdisks/agar: two special adaptersfor inserting Petri dishes allow forideal height positioning of the dis-hes in order to reach optimumlateral illumination.

The power supply provides anautomatic line/mains supply identification 100-240 VAC com-pensating short voltage breakdo-wns.

l three modes of illumination:- from below- from the side and- from top (optional)

l Petri dishes or nutrient disks with- Ø 90 mm- Ø 60 mm or Ø 150 mm (optional)

l high transparency of colonies reached by LED-light source, practically no heat transferredto the sample

l light intensity, pressure sensi-tivity for count and acoustical counting signal adjustable

l average determinationl data transfer via USB to the

PC

The schuett count may be usedfor a large variety of applicationswhere microbial checks are nee-ded:

l in bacteriologyl in dairy and beverage industryl in Medical Test Centresl in Quality Control for water

treatment plantsl in food and environmental

analytics

The counter is initiated by mar-king the colonies with an ordinaryfelt-tip marker pen.

The Petri dish holder is pressuresensitive. Already a gentle touchof the Petri dish with the pengenerates a count.

The result is clearly shown on alarge 4-digit LED-display (0-9999)with reset feature.

A well-organized and easy toclean keypad allows for nearlyinfinite, reproducible adjustment(for each operator) of pressuresensitivity, light intensity and acoustical count signal. The corre-sponding level of sensitivity isshown in the digital display.

The count signal acoustically con-firms the count of a colony.

Correction of counting mistakes iseasily possible by adding or sub-tracting with the arrow keys. When counting high numbers ofcolonies, the optional Wolffhügel-disk facilitates the segmenting inthe bright or the dark field.

A black contrast disk for workingin dark fields is included in thedelivery extent.

Illumination of colonies

State-of-the-art light technologyallows for circularly illuminatingthe colonies from the side resul-ting in a transparency and diffe-rentiation of the colonies neverpossible before.

There is no stray light or blinding, which is usually a problem whenusing fluorescent lamps.

In addition, the dimming featureallows for adjusting the lightintensity to the needs of the userand accounts for surrounding lightinside the lab.

A natural colour reproduction faci-litates differentiation betweenvarious coloured cultures growingon chromogenic medium and fil-ter/nutrient disks.

The state-of-the-art illuminationprovides such a contrast that agarplates, with colonies growing onand inside the agar may easily becounted.

As a result, eyestrain is reducedto a minimum allowing for exten-ded periods of uninterruptedwork.

The entire illumination consumesonly 3 Watts producing practicallyno heat.

Choose individually the idealmode of illumination according tothe medium.

Use the bright background fordark colonies or the black contrastdisk for light colonies.

Page 22: Anaerobic jars - Deutsche Messe AG · Anaerobic jars For tthe ccultivation oof aanaerobic and mmicroaerophilic mmicroorga-nisms iin aa ddefined aand rrapidly generated ggas aatmosphere

Three modes of illumination

1) Illumination from below

White colonies growing in and onclear agar are illuminated frombelow in order to avoid reflections.

The glarefree illumination facilita-tes the counting of the coloniesespecially at the rim of the Petridish.

Differentiation between coloniesand air bubbles inside the agar ispossible without any difficulties.

Furthermore, the light source allo-ws for the correct identification ofmucus secreting colonies andobserving the decrease of turbidi-ty caused by calcium carbonateinside the agar when workingwith acid producing micro-organisms.

rom

bel

ow

2) Illumination from the side

For colonies growing on filterdisks and on non-transparentagar, the illumination from theside has been developed.

Transparent colonies are mostly3-dimensional.

Accurate colour reproduction ofthe colonies in the bright and darkfield is reached, so that an incre-dible ease of work is reached forall agar media where a colour dif-ferentiation of various colonycolours is requested.

The direct lateral illumination inconjunction with the white lightspectrum of the LEDs lights up,colonies than may hardly be seenin the reflecting light of floures-cent lamps.

3) Illumination from top (optional)

For colonies with a very low con-trast to the background and colo-nies growing on dark agar, weoptionally offer a LED-top lightlamp for connection to the stan-dard schuett count manual colonycounter.

The top light lamp is equippedwith a flexible gooseneck and illu-minates the complete Petri dish. Itis especially suggested for coun-ting very small colonies.

Average determination

For serial tests, the schuett countmay show the average by push ofa button.

Up to 99 values with a total ofmax. 32,500 colonies may be evaluated.

USB-data transfer

schuett count provides a USB-interface, which may transfer thecounting result directly to anExcel-chart or field of the analysisreport.

Ergonomically optimized

The inclination of the instrument´sworking surface is optimized forthe operator, so that the Petri dishis positioned as horizontally aspossible without forcing the userto bend over the instrument.

The convenient width of the schu-ett count allows for positioningboth hands onto the instrumentwithout blocking additional wor-king space.

These construction features sup-port easy and comfortable work.

Due to the compact construction, the schuett count only requireslittle space.

The housing is easy to clean.

EffectiveThe sample chamber with anattractive design, needs onlysmall footprint.Software will be delivered pre-installed on PC/Laptop, standarddemo settings are stored, thisallows immediate operation.

Time-savingSignificantly increases efficiencycompared to manual evaluation ofthe colonies.

400 Petri dishes per hour, inde-pendent of 10 or 1,000 coloniesgrowing on the sample.

No counting errors as they occurwith declining concentrationwhen counting manually.

Universalschuett colonyQuant wasdesigned for Quality Control infood, beverage and pharmaceuti-cal industries, in microbiologicaltest labs. The colonyQuant systemis ideal for evaluation of Amestests and water samples.

The system may be set andcalibrated to different types ofcolonies and agars/nutrient diskswithin minutes.

The reasoned software in Germanand English language helps analy-sing and differentiating coloniesby colour, size and shape.

The settings may be changed atany time according to the usersrequest and the system shows theeffects on the counting resultimmediately. The original image, the evaluated image as well asthe set parameters may be storedand re-opened at any time byusing the file name.

The Windows based structure ofthe software/icons makes it easyfor the operator to comprehendthe system’s functions.

The device centres Petri dishesØ 60 to Ø 90 mm exactly andreproducible. The camera automa-tically zooms to ensure that alsoØ 60 mm Petri dishes are evalua-ted with high resolution.

The counting result may becorrected manually at any time byusing the "Add"/"Delete"-function.

Helpful featuresMeasurements:Distances and areas may be measured and are shown in a separate list. Inscriptions: Make your own notes in free text fields and save them in theimage.

Criteria for differentiation (may becombined as needed).Colour:The differentiation of colouredcolonies (e.g. flavine containingor colouring by chromogenic, selective agar) compared tocolourless colonies may beobtained by defining the actualintensity-spectrum of thecorresponding colour. In totalthere is a maximum of eight diffe-rent colour gradients to be set. This means blue and red coloniesmay be counted simultaneouslyon one Petri dish and the resultwill show the total of blue colo-nies or the total of red coloniesand total count of both.Size:The differentiation of colonieswith different sizes is alsopossible, e.g. large colonies maybe differentiated from the back-ground growth. The minimum colony size forcounting is 0.05 mm.Shape:By differentiating coloniesaccording to their shape it ispossible to define the roundnessof the colonies to be counted. This is helpful for analysing bacterial colonies on agar platesin the presence of moulds or precipitates of the same colour.

OverlappingThe split function allows forgradually separating overlappingcolonies. This is particularly advan-tageous with Petri dishes having alarge number of colonies or withbigger colonies.

In conformity with GLPAll sensitive areas are passwordprotected. The software isstructured in three levels:l administratorl controllerl operator

The administrator may decidewhich counting parameters are tobe addressed by the operator.

Name of the operator, batch andsample number are automaticallystored with the result of theanalysis.

Provision for system check with acoloured disk (provided with thesystem) and reset function torecall manufacturer provided standard settings.

State-of-the-art LED-lightingtechnology assures a lateralillumination of the Petri dish andresults in so far unknown trans-parency and differentiation of thecolonies on the agar.

Filters are illuminated from abovefor maximum contrast and colourdifferentiation. The grid on filterdisks may be removed easily inthe colonyQuant-software andwill not adulterate the result.

Spiral plating dishes are countedautomatically in consideration ofthe counting grid.

Inhibition zones are analysedclockwise.

Data storage (documentation)The original image and theevaluated image are storeddigitally, all relevant data of theanalysis are automatically storedfor later re-evaluation.An analysis report may be printed, the user may decide whichindividual parameters are of need.Elimination of transcription errors. All results are presented in atable, exportable to Excel- or CVS-format. All data may be exportedto a LIM-system.

EfficientThe counting settings are to beadjusted only once for each typeof colony. The area to be countedis defined prior to analysis. If the rim of the Petri dish is diffi-cult to evaluate, the softwarecounts 90% of the Petri dish andextrapolates the total number ofcolonies. The software alsoallows for counting individualquarters of the total area. Further, the „lasso“-functionallows counting of certain definedareas of the Petri dish.

After entering the volume anddilution, the colonies per ml arecalculated automatically.

acts Typical Applications

Total number of colonies: All colonies will be counted, even if they differ in colour, size and shape.Enterobacteria: E. coli colonies are of a light cream colour and not much different from the transparent slightlyyellow colour of the LB-agar itself, but can easily be counted with the lateral LED-illumination.Filters on agar or nutrient disks: Colonies growing on filter disks are perfectly illuminated from above. The gridbeing shown on the surface of the filter will be ignored by the software and does not affect the counting result.Clear colonies become visible by illumination from the side at the middle level of the sample chamber.High number of colonies: Up to approx. 1,000 colonies per Petri dish will be count within seconds.Bacteriophage plaque assays: By using the dark field it is feasible to count plaques against a cell background.Agar: Cloudy/clear, all colours, plates with sloped agar (uneven thickness).Fluorescence: Evaluation of fluorescent colonies illuminated with UV light, e.g. for MPN tests in microwell plates.

To operate VAKUWASCH all youneed is a vacuum flask (with rub-ber stopper with bore whole anda vacuum tube) and a low vacu-um.

The content of the cuvette andthe rinsing water are transportedinto the vacuum bottle which isvery advantageous when usingradioactive materials or toxic sub-stances.

The funnel of the VAKUWASCHprovides in its centre a plungerwith a rubber plate and a centralnozzle.

Put the vessel to be cleaned withits opening onto the rubber plateand hold it there. After connectingthe vacuum, pour approx. 10 ml ofdistilled water into the funnel.Immediately, a heavy jet of waterwill shoot against the vessel'sbottom and drain next to the nozz-le.

Naturally, you may use detergentsor other cleaning agents as well.

After draining of the water, insertfew drops of acetone into the fun-nel. By carefully pressing the ves-sel's bottom, a vacuum creates asharp air stream, which dries thevessel within seconds.

Page 41: Anaerobic jars - Deutsche Messe AG · Anaerobic jars For tthe ccultivation oof aanaerobic and mmicroaerophilic mmicroorga-nisms iin aa ddefined aand rrapidly generated ggas aatmosphere

Applications1. Homogenisation

of two indissoluble liquids, e.g. creating emulsions

2. Mixing of solidsinto liquids, e.g. creating suspensions

3. Separating bacteria or yeast cells from the culture medium by centrifugation or resuspen-ding, e.g. washing with buffers

4. Splitting bacteria or yeast cell clots,e.g. for chemical cell disruption

5. Splitting united cell structu-res, sensitive material,e.g. cell culture, liver etc.

6. Splitting united cell structu-res, tough material,e.g. muscle, bowel, skin, plant tissue

Complete disruption into individu-al cells through homogenisationcan only be guaranteed for sensi-tive material (cell culture, liver tis-sue, plant tissue etc.). Frequently, homogenisation serves as a pre-paration step for chemical (deter-gents), enzymatic or mechanicalcell disruption.

Please contact us for mechanicalcell disruption systems (FrenchPress System, BioNeb System,Ultrasonic systems etc.).

Homogenisation highly increasesthe effect of cell disruption andreduces the residence time ofchemicals or enzymes.

DefinitionHomogenisation is the thoroughmixing of two components of onesystem that are immiscible bytheir nature.

Common application in microbio-logy is resuspending of cell pel-lets and disruption of cell clotsand cell tissue.

What do you need for homogenisation?

schuett homgenplus

Speed-stabilizedschuett homgenplus is speed-stabilized with an electronicrotational speed-controlvariable from 40 to 3,000 rpm.The speed is infinitely variableand remains constant, indepen-dent of load changes when homo-genising. The standard integrated4-digit LED-display makes repro-ducible homogenising possible.

Cooling VesselThe transparent cooling vesselallows permanent monitoring ofthe homogenisation and guaran-tees high working safety.

schuett homgenplus is suitable forhomogenising sensitive botanicalmaterial, animal tissue, anorganicmaterial etc.

Handy cooling of the sampleswith ice, which can easily be fil-led into the cooling vessel afteropening the screw cap. This pre-vents sensitive samples from hea-ting during homogenisation.

Comfortable and safeThe lever arm moves the table upand down together with the cooling vessel and the tightlyclamped homogenising vessel.

The lifting mechanism assuressafe and comfortable work, bothwith tough and sensitive homoge-nising tasks.

The cooling vessel offers additio-nal working safety in the case ofglass-breakage or when usingpathogen materials.

UniversalThe universal clamping adapter ofthe cooling vessel allows for useof almost all homogenising ves-sels currently available on themarket. Included in delivery are 6inserts for vessels with variousdiameters.

Even EPPENDORF ® reaction ves-sels can be used.

sHomogeniserssuitable for use with our schuetthomgenplus semi-automatic homo-geniser or any other drive-unitwith drill chuck.

The homogenising vessels andpestles of schuett-biotec GmbHare available in different modelsand sizes as well as with differentspecific features, i.e. the user maychoose a homogenising vesseland pestle that perfectly meetshis individual demands - depen-ding on consistency and fibrelength of the material to be treated.

All homogenising vessels andpestles are manufactured withoutmost precision and care toguarantee highest fitting accuracyto reach a good homogenisationresult.

In case of breakage, only thedamaged part has to be replaced, the counterpiece may still beused.

EPPI-pestle made of polypropylen andstainless steel with quick-grip clamp

Please note for using glass pestles with powered drive-units

When using pestles and homoge-nising vessels made of glass, bothitems have to be handled withcare as two cut glass surfacesencounter.

The rotational speed should be asslow as possible. Furthermore, thevertical power should only beused to the least possible extent.

When moving, only glass surfacesbeing covered by liquid should bein contact. Contact between twodry glass surfaces cause resonan-ce vibrations, which may lead tobreakage of the glass parts.

Please moisten pestle and homo-genising vessel before homogeni-sing. Carefully insert the pestleinto the homogenising vessel at alow rotational speed.

Page 45: Anaerobic jars - Deutsche Messe AG · Anaerobic jars For tthe ccultivation oof aanaerobic and mmicroaerophilic mmicroorga-nisms iin aa ddefined aand rrapidly generated ggas aatmosphere

Tapered homogenising vessels

are most suitable for tough tissuethat is difficult to homogenise(application 4 and 6).

The distance between pestle andhomogenising vessel depends onthe immersion depth of the pestlein the tapered part of the vessel. In the tapered part, the material ischopped by moving the pestle upand down before it is homogeni-sed in the cylindrical part of thevessel.

Tapered homogenising vesselsreach very good results - even formaterials that could virtually notbe homogenised in cylindrical vessels.

Cylindrical homogenising vessels

are most suitable for soft tissueas stated in applications 1 to 5.

The straight, cylindrical pestleshave a high fitting accuracy to theinner diameter of the homogeni-sing vessel. The tip of the pestlefits exactly the bottom of thehomogenising vessel, which for-ces the homogenising materialupwards. The up and down move-ment of the vessel - and there-with the shearing action at thewalls - causes the homogenisa-tion process.

For application 3, we offer a spe-cial homogenising vessel, whichmay be placed directly into thecentrifuge.

This vessel is suitable for centrifu-ge rotation of up to 4,000 rpm.Cylindrical homogenising vesselsproduce a very fine homogenisa-tion.

Tapered or cylindricalDepending on the task, one canchoose between homogeniserswith PTFE pestles or ground glasspestles of tapered orcylindrical shape.

The tapered homogeniser combi-nes two zones for homogenisa-tion. In the tapered zone thematerial will be pre-homogenisedwhile the final fine-homogenisa-tion takes place in the cylindrialzone.

If the start material already has afine texture, a cylindrical homoge-niser may suffice.

Homogeniser and pestle are of aprecise shape and thereforeseparately exchangeable.

Page 46: Anaerobic jars - Deutsche Messe AG · Anaerobic jars For tthe ccultivation oof aanaerobic and mmicroaerophilic mmicroorga-nisms iin aa ddefined aand rrapidly generated ggas aatmosphere

Pestles made of glassWith robust glass shaft. Ground-glass surface in cylindrical/tape-red shape. Highly efficient withtough tissue.

Cut glass pestles and homogeni-sing vessels are most suitable fortough material that may cause dif-ficulties during homogenisation(application 6).

Naturally, application 1-5 may bedone with glass pestles as well, itis however more comfortable touse PTFE pestles due to the easyhandling.Pestle and homogenising vesselmay be exchanged, so that incase of weariness or breakageonly the affected part has to bereplaced. A motor drive-unit and aquick-grip clamp for glass pestlesare recommended to minimizelateral pressure on the glass shaftand to reach sufficient torquewith few rotations per minute.

In the case where glass abrasion(quartz particles) may disturb theanalytic, please use PTFE pestles.

Pestles made of PTFEWith shaft made of stainlesssteel. Inert, elastic, with asmooth, wax-like moisture-rejecting surface. Resistant to high temperatures.

Pestles made of PTFE are prefe-rentially used for homogenisationof soft materials (application 1 to 4, possibly 5).

The PTFE pestle tips accurately fitthe inner dimensions of the homo-genising vessel. All pestles andhomogenising vessels of the samesize may be exchanged and auto-claved.

PTFE is chemically inert and has asoft wax-like and moisture-rejec-ting surface. The advantages ofPTFE are low heat development,no contamination of the homoge-nate by glass abrasion, high stabi-lity, and trouble-free sterilisation.

In the case where PTFE (flexibili-ser) might disturb the analytic, please use glass pestles.

Glass-fibre reinforced PTFE pestles For especially tough tissue. Thesepestles are practically unbreaka-ble and cause considerably lesscontamination of the homogenatedue to glass abrasion than glasspestles.

The flexibility of PTFE limits theeffectiveness of using PTFE pest-les with tough tissue (application4, possibly 6).

The reinforced PTFE pestles con-tain 25% of glass and are there-with 10 times tougher; however, they are resistant to chemicalsand have a smooth surface.

They are most suitable for materi-al that is rather difficult to homo-genise, but still provide theadvantages of pure PTFE pestles.

Our quick-grip clamp guaranteesthe treatment of many samples inbest time and allows for changingthe pestle with running engine.

EPPI-pestle made of stainlesssteel, cut from solid material.

Autoclavable. They are made fromone piece and easy to clean sterilize in order to avoid contami-nation with germs etc. Suitablefor use with liquid nitrogen.

They may be exposed to high andlow temperatures (autoclaving, liquid nitrogen).

Our pestles made of stainlesssteel are most suitable for homo-genising small volumes (up to 500 µl) in tapered EPPENDORF ®-test tubes being frozen in liquidnitrogen.

The advantages of the quick-gripclamp and the cooling vessel (seeabove) are adaptable to pestlesmade of stainless steel as well.

Heat is generated only during theactual sterilization process. No energy consumption betweenwork cycles.

Long-term studies have shown thatthe low heat generation of the device enhances the well-being ofthe user as it does not have a dry-ing effect on the user’s face oreyes.

When used in Laminar FlowCabinets a significant benefit of theschuett solaris is its low level ofheat emission as it does not inter-fere in any major way with thelaminar air flow. It also does notemit soot which could impair thefunction of HEPA-Filters.

The schuett solaris Loop Sterilizer iswell qualified for service both in thelaboratory and in the demandingenvironment of field-use.

As its operation does not requireoxygen, the schuett solaris can beused in anaerobic conditions.

schuett solaris is the perfect alternati-ve to the Safety Bunsen Burner or tothe conventional Bunsen burner. The preferred solution where an openflame is to be avoided, gas cartridgesare not readily available or the provi-sion of a central gas supply is tooexpensive.

Used with standard electrical power, the device reaches the safe workingtemperature of 900 – 1.300 °C withinthe split of a second. No warm-up timenecessary, no preheating.

START is generated by an infra-redsensor, which allows for one-handedoperation. The metal portion of theloop-holder with the inoculating loop isexposed to the schuett solaris LoopSterilizer for a preset 5 seconds.Sterilization of both the loop and theshaft of the loop holder will resultsimultaneously.

The integrated timer can be set toeither 5 or 7 seconds. Once set, thetimer guarantees a fixed and repro-ducible working cycle. An easily accessible quartz tubeserves as the sterilization chamber. It keeps pathogenic material fromspreading and can easily be re-moved for cleaning.

User-friendly: the schuett solarisoffers four fixed angular workingpositions, with intermediate stopsat the user’s discretion.

The schuett solaris is robust andsturdy. There are no parts subject tomechanical wear.Low heat development during operation. The level of heat deve-lopment depends upon the set steri-lization time and the overall time ofa work session. Even if in conti-nuous use, this unit poses no hazardto the user if touched by hand.

The Precision Micromanipulatoris mounted on the left side of thestage and both move simultane-ously, when the microscope is focused, thus there is no need fora fixed stage. Other than the previous designs, the sidewaymovements are led by ball bearingslides, whereas the joystickallows for a smooth and hystere-sis-free adjustment of Y- and Z-axis. The X-axis is adjusted by tur-ning a knob.

The Mechanical Stage has lowcoaxial control knobs, which aretension adjustable. The stage isindexed with "click-stops" every 5 mm on the X- and Y-axis. Petri dishes with Ø 100 mm ofvarious manufacturers can beused, because of the uniquedesign of the dish holder.

More safety and comfortThe safety vacuum bottle is resi-stant to chemicals, has a largecapacity and therefore decreasestime-consuming autoclaving anddisposing to a minimum.

The screw-cap of the bottlecomes with two self-locking fit-tings, which seal the bottle andlock the vacuum bottle hermeti-cally, when the tubing is removedfor transport and autoclaving.

The aeration insert ensures theneeded pressure equalizationwhen autoclaving.

Space savingEcoVac only needs a minimum ofspace in your laboratory. Only thepasteur pipette with the siliconetubing and the vacuum bottle takeup work space. By cutting the sili-cone tubing as needed, thesystem can easily be adapted toyour individual working conditi-ons.

The EcoVac safety-vacuum-systemsupports efficent work and increa-ses the safety standard whenworking with infectious materialin a laboratory.EcoVac easily removes pathogenicliquid excess from dishes, bottles, tubes, disks etc. and transfers toa safety vacuum bottle made ofbreak-resistant and autoclavablepolypropylene.

User-friendly conceptEcoVac is a highly functional solu-tion and extremly cost-efficient atthe same time.

We recommend a standard past-eur-pipette to remove the excess. It can easily be used with siliconetubing, which connects to thesafety vacuum bottle. Further silicone tubing connectsthe safety vacuum bottle to thevacuum-system, i.e. the vacuumpump or central vacuum.

Vacuum pumpThe vacuum pump is a double-chambered membrane pump withan illuminated on/off-switch.

Foot-switchAllows to operate the pump if theEcoVac system should be usedintermittently.

Safety filterThe safety filter between thevacuum bottle and the pump pre-vents the pump from contaminati-on or consequences of aggresivegases or liquids.
