On the 7th of January the School came back to life after the winter break.

Laughter, joy, fun through a host of activities enabling learning marked the months

from January- March 2019

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION Classes I to V witnessed the special

assembly conducted by seniors on the

occasion of Republic day.

A patriotic song was presented by

class 3 students based on patrioticm.

The theatrical presentation of the

the junior school a pack into the Indian

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

A grand Annual Sports’ Day was conducted on 19th January, 2019 by the

School in the school premises with great élan, flair and vivacity. It

showcased the five tenets of sports like: SPEED, STRENGTH, SKILL,

STAMINA and SPIRIT! The Chief Guest for this day was Mr. Sanjeev Rajput, an ace shooter

and recipient of Arjuna Award & many Gold medals. The Guest of Honour was Ms. Anita Mavi,

eminent Asian Games Kabbadi player .

The school choir presented an inspirational song which celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship!

The series of races by Primary was intercepted by Drills performed with Pom-Poms and

Umbrellas. The highlight of the day was an impressive Karate Display, done with great precision,

confidence and meticulousness by the champions in the making!! Races like Hop & Pop, Need for

Speed, Hezlapoppin Hoopla, Hopping Bunnies, Balancing the Balloons etc. were very entertaining

and exciting ones. The final moment came with the announcement of the Champion’s Trophy and

best athletes award by the Chief Guest

CREATIVITY AT ITS BEST

Art is something that makes you breathe with a different kind of happiness. Creativity is a big

motivator because it makes children interested in what they are doing.

The students of class III rekindled their creative talents by making various things related to

nature using the quilling technique as a part of their art activities. Class IV students made

scenes using the African symbols.

Class V students made scenes using the Fauvism art. The students made beautiful scenes and

explored the extent of their imagination through this activity.

QUIZ TIME

Engaging, enlightening and exciting would

describe the ‘Heritage of India’ quiz on

25th Feb.’19. Class III students divided in

three teams, ‘The Wise Quacks’,

‘Wikipedias’ and ‘Smart Aleces’ were

quizzed on Indian monuments, famous

personalities, cuisines, festivals, art,

music and games. Smart Alecs, Navya

Soam and Amishi Rastogi made it to the

1st position with ‘Wise Quacks’ Dhruv

Kapasia and Ahana Singh bagging the

second position after giving them a tough

fight.

The equally energetic and enthusiastic audience

also had their share of challenging questions.

The more you READ, The more things you will KNOW

An environment and culture within the library

that is welcoming and engaging plays a vital role

in maintaining the excitement of students about

coming to the library and reading books.

In a bid to promote reading, few activities were

undertaken in the junior library in the month of

February '19.

THEATRE IN EDUCATION Theatre acts as a positive catalyst for the students to develop intellectually

and emotionally. It fulfills all types of learning and enhances the

development process. The inherent objective of ‘Theatre in Education’

evidently is to embolden, empower and enshrine the spirit of confidence in

kids!

The students of classes IV & II put up informative plays based on local self

government ’ and स्वच्छता की ओर.

The students staged the numerous benefits of the local self-governing bodies. The role played by

Municipal Corporations in big cities, Municipal Councils in smaller towns and Gram Panchayats in

villages, was presented in front of the audience. The role play by the young students as Sarpanch,

Municipal Commissioner, Ward Councillors made the topic all the more comprehensible.

Our young students of class II, for first time explored Theatre as a medium on 25th February

2019, in Hindi on the topic स्वच्छता की ओर. The main purpose of this programme was to create

awareness about the need for cleanliness . The young children through their play brought out the

benefits of maintaining a clean environment and how each one should contribute to it. The authentic

and credible performances by the class II students was wholeheartedly applauded by all.

To acknowledge and honour excellence in

academics and co-curricular activities, the Annual

Academic Excellence Award Ceremony for classes

I to V (session 2017-18) was held on Monday,

25thFebruary, 2019.

The meritorious students were felicitated

by the manager Mrs. Veena Sirohi.

Students received Certificates for

Academic Excellence in the categories,

Golden boy, Golden Girl, Collaborative

Worker, Consistent Performer, Good

Conduct and 100% attendance. The

students were also recognized for their

talent in Sports, Dance, Music and

Computers.

Dental Check-up Camp

A Dental Checkup camp was orgaznised on 1st March 2019 for Primary classes I to V by ITS

Dental college and Hospital, Greater Noida.

LEARNING OUTSIDE THE FOUR WALLS

Trips and tours that form a part of the school

curriculum are very valuable as they provide the

students the opportunity of learning. Apart

from this, the trips also provide an opportunity

for close interaction with peers, develop a

sense of independence and a chance for the

teacher to observe and interact with the

student in a structure different from and more

informal than the classroom

VISIT TO THE RED FORT

Students of class V were given a special

opportunity to visit the newly opened Kranti

Mandir on February 8. A government

initiative to make students more aware of

the Museum which has a rich collection of

the culture and history of India. The trip

comprised of a guided tour of the museum

where students were informed about the

life of Subhash Chandra Bose Students also

got a chance to learn about the milestones

of the Indian Freedom Struggle from the

museum’s displays.

It showcases different artefacts, including

a wooden chair and sword used by the leader,

medals, badges and uniforms from his INA

days Students were overwhelmed on learning

about such great men and moments of

history.

KUKDUKOO LIT FEST

Our budding stars of Cambridge School

Greater Noida had a lovely experience on 2nd

and 3rd February 2019 at the Kukdukoo lit

fest held at Kiran Nadar Museum of Art,

Noida. The festival had a plethora of exciting

events which included musical story-telling,

theatre and book reading sessions, DIY

activities, creative writing workshops,

Author Book Signing, book reading sessions,

Puppet shows and many more sessions which

added fuel to their creative mind to help

them explore the genius within themselves.

Children connected themselves with their

favourite stories and became a part of their

phizz whizzing world. It was a wonderful

opportunity to invoke the love for reading in

children, the kind of love that will stay with

them for years to come.

SHANKAR’S DOLL MUSEUM A place that kindles children’s interest and a veritable dreamland.

An educational tour was organized to Dolls

Museum, New Delhi a dreamland for kids,

for the students of Class II on Wednesday

February 6, 2019. Students witnessed

exquisite dolls displayed in the museum from

all over the world.

The dolls depicted customs and traditions

of different countries vividly. The students

learnt about different dance forms

exhibited by the dolls of different states

of India as well. It was amazing for the

students to see so many dolls of different

varieties under one roof. It was an

enthralling and memorable experience for

the children.

Cambridge Girls conquer the stage at National Dance Championship

DANCING THEIR WAY TO BIGGER GOALS!

Rightly called the nimble feet of Cambridge School,

Greater Noida, Sriti Mahesh of class V made the school

proud by clinching the finals of the Dance Championship

(finals) competition held on 3rd January, 2019 in Jammu &

Kashmir, conducted by National Sports Dance Academy.

It was victory all along the way as earlier had won the

District Championship at Muradabad with Sriti Mahesh

bagging two Gold Medals in the semi- classical category in

the age group of 10—13 years.

This tremendously talented girl has set many records at various Inter-School & Intra- School

competitions to achieve greater heights.

FIRE EVACUATION DRILL

To create awareness among the students about fire-fighting techniques and the ways to respond swiftly in times of such an emergency , a fire evacuation drill was conducted on 11thJanuary 2018 in the school premises.

The evacuation operation began moments after the fire alarm alerted the students. The students were immediately evacuated from their classrooms and made to gather in the assembly area.

NIGHT CAMP ‘The hats whirled skyward, carried by bright, new hopes and propelled

by big, daring dreams’.

Cambridge School Greater Noida celebrated its Graduation day ceremony

for the students of Class V on Saturday 16 March 2019. It was a rejoicing

and much awaited moment for each and every graduating student.

A night camp brings thrill, excitement and simple pleasurable experiences,

to the school campus. The students enjoyed their independence and time

away from home as they were kept gainfully engaged with a variety of fun-

filled and supervised adventurous activities. Football and Kho -Kho matches, movie show,

musical-chairs , talent show and other activities saw all the cherubs participate with cheerful

enthusiasm. Laughter and giggles echoed through the corridors of the school as students

enjoyed sharing jokes and riddles with their teachers. And to add to this a bonfire night with

foot tapping music that was played by Edwin Sir made it more enjoyable. The students danced

and swayed to the lively beats till late evening. The creative streak and histrionic skills of

students was a treat to watch as every child presented a talent treat. The scrumptious meals

and lip smacking snacks, were thoroughly relished by the children. The camp concluded on the

morning of 17 March. The camp was designed with the aim of learning through fun and leisure

activities and bonding among the teaching learning fraternity. It was a memorable experience

for all kids and an event to cherish forever!

It is worth all the effort, hard work and time put in, when we see the happy faces of our

dear students and the confidence they have gained in a year’s time! On behalf of all of

us at primary, we would like to thank all the parents, for being co-operative, supportive,

enthusiastic and always appreciative of the efforts of the school

Coming together is the beginning;

keeping together is progress and working together is success;

Let us keep the imagination among the students alive, with all the best wishes for

the next session.
