Soltigua - 2

Soltigua’s quality and reliability are proven by several achievements such as:

– Mostra Convegno Innovation Award for the first double effect solar cooling system in Italy (2010)

– PTM certification up to 250°C according to EN-12975 - first parabolic trough worldwide (2011)

– Intersolar Award received by PTMx, for its impressive cost-performance tradeoff (2012)

The InSun project

The project Industrial Process Heat by solar collectors (InSun) competed in Call ENERGY-2011-2 relatively to the

topic ENERGY.2011.4.1-2: Low/Medium temperature solar thermal systems for industrial process heat

Soltigua was partner of a consortium including also:

• ZAFH NET Stuttgart (Germany), coordinator

• EURAC Bolzano (Italy)

• SOLID (Austria)

• Berger (Austria)

• Laco (Spain)

• Solera (Germany)

InSun focused on developing 3 large solar installations to provide solar process

heat to industrial processes by using 3 different technologies and 3 different

temperature levels.

Soltigua was responsible of the most innovative installation which included the higher operating temperatures.

The project obtained a score of 13/15

InSun – Installation in Italy

Within InSun, Soltigua is realising 2 solar fields to generate

steam in two different ways:

• indirectly, by using thermal oil and a heat exchanger

• directly, by using Direct Steam Generation (DSG)

The solar system will generate up to 2 ton/hour of steam

(1,3 MW thermal)
