WE GO FORTH TO SERVE GOD BY SERVING OUR NEIGHBOR *Sending Hymn The Days of Elijah *Charge and Pastoral Benediction The Rev. Dr. Faulkner Postlude

*Those who are able may stand.

These are the days of Elijah, declaring the Word of the Lord. And these are the days of Your servant, Moses, righteousness being restored. And though these are days of great trials, of famine and darkness and sword, Still we are the voice in the desert crying, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord.” [Refrain] Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun at the trumpet call. So lift your voice, it's the year of Jubilee, and out of Zion's hill salvation comes. And these are the days of Ezekiel, the dry bones becoming as flesh. And these are the days of Your servant David, rebuilding a temple of praise. And these are the days of the harvest, the fields are as white in Your world. And we are the laborers in Your vineyard, declaring the Word of the Lord. [Refrain] There is no god like Jehovah, There is no god like Jehovah, There is no god like Jehovah, There is no god like Jehovah. There is no god like Jehovah, There is no god like Jehovah, There is no god like Jehovah, There is no god like Jehovah. [Refrain] [Refrain]

The Story of Queen Esther

Once there was a young girl named Esther. Her cousin, Mordecai, worked for the king. When Esther’s parents died, she went to live with her cousin in the palace. Esther learned new things, wore dazzling clothes, and grew into a beautiful young woman. When the king saw Esther, he said, “I am happy! I want you to wear this crown and be my queen!” Now Esther and Mordecai were Jews, and many people did not like Mordecai or the Jewish people. But the king was a wise man, and he always listened to what Mordecai and Esther had to say. One of the men who did not like Mordecai was a very proud man named Haman. One day the king said, “I am giving Haman a special job. And because he is so important, everyone should kneel and bow down to him!” This made Haman happy because he thought a lot of himself. But Mordecai knew that God was the only one he should bow down to. When Haman saw that Mordecai wouldn’t bow to him, he was so mad! And when he learned that Mordecai was a Jew, he was even madder. “This isn’t right,” Haman said. “I am going to punish Mordecai and all of the Jewish people!” Haman saw that the king loved Esther and that he listened to Mordecai, and this also made him angry. Haman knew that they were Jews, so he planned for all of the Jews to be killed. But Esther was smarter than Haman! “I have found out something important,” Esther told the king while they were eating at a banquet. She told him of Haman’s plans to kill all of the Jews. When Esther told the king that Mordecai was her cousin, and that they were both Jews, the king wasn’t mad at her. Because the king loved Esther so much he gave Mordecai the job that Haman had before. The king said to Mordecai. “Write a message to all of the Jews in my name saying that you are under my protection.” The letters that Mordecai wrote went to the people all across the land, and the Jews celebrated with music, feasting, and dancing. “Hurrah for Queen Esther!” the people cheered. “Because the king loves her, we are saved.”

Truth for All Time: A Brief Outline of the Christian Faith by John Calvin Following each Soup & Sound concert, Dr. Faulkner will be leading a discussion on what it means to be a Christian. Our conversa-tion will be centered around the writings of John Calvin (1509-1564). Though Calvin wrote well over 400 years ago, his insights in what it means to be a disciple of Christ are still amazingly perceptive. Join Rev. Faulkner in the Hospitality Room immediately following the S&S concert for an open and lively discussion. (Books are being purchased ahead of time so please let Greg know if you plan to participate so a book will be available for you.)

Adult Education: Sing to the Lord a New Song: Worship from Ancient Jerusalem to Contemporary Edinburgh

How has our worship of God changed over time? Are there things that we do on Sundays that have been handed-down from ancient times? How might our relationship with God be enhanced by learning about our liturgical heritage? Come and see this Sunday as Dr. Faulkner shares with us from his sabbatical studies. March 18 in the Witherspoon Center. Get some coffee and join us at 11am. It is a wonderful time for fellowship and getting to know our members on a more personal level.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come.

SAVE THE DATE! Three Courses, Three Places, One Great Night: The Progressive Dinner is back! And the date is Saturday, April 14. Sign ups begin on Sunday, March 18 and continue through April 8.

Trinity is going SOLAR! The solar panel installation is well underway. All the support brackets and power modules have been installed, as well as the wiring from the roof to the basement main electrical panel. Two power inverters have been installed on the roof and the solar panels themselves are going up. Weather has been pretty good to us the last few weeks with many dry and unseasonably warm days. When all the panels have been installed, the contractor will call for the necessary inspections. Once they have approved the installation, PSE&G will be contacted and asked to install the necessary two-way meter. That may take a few weeks and we have no control over that time frame. As soon as PSE&G installs the two-way meter, the solar system can become operational and we can start getting electricity from the sun! The rear parking lot will be opened for full use once all the panels have been installed and the contractor has completed the clean up. Walt Steinle, Chair of Property and Buildings Committee.

2018 Trinity Men’s Fellowship Palm Sunday Breakfast – March 25 Please sign up in the Fellowship Hall on either Sunday March 11 or 18 after worship. The cost of the breakfast is $15.00 – and only $5.00 for the younger guys 12 and under. The proceeds of the event will go towards funding the Trinity Senior Highs Summer Mission Work Trip. Our morning begins with a 7:00 AM communion service in the Sanctuary. After the service we will reconvene in the Community Room (downstairs) and enjoy breakfast prepared and served by our Trinity Senior Highs. At 8:00 our guest, Chef Jonathan of Cathedral Kitchen in Camden will speak to us about how their mission uses food to change lives and nourish people. Some of you might have already volunteered to help this wonderful organization. At 9:00 AM we will conclude our event. Contact Bill Stockwell (email [email protected]) phone 609-922-4010 or Ed Behrens (email [email protected]) with questions or to reserve your place. Hope to see you at our sign-up table!
