SEPTEMBER Chamber Meeting
www. siouxcenterchamber.com Sioux Center IA 51250 September 2013
Musings from the editor’s desk:
“How do you like your new job?” This is the question I have been asked too many times to count in
the past few months. To have so many people care...it’s a blessing. To work for this community and its
businesses...it’s a blessing. To be surrounded with such great people...it’s a blessing. That’s my answer.
I’ve enjoyed getting to meet many of you, look forward to meeting more of you, and am eager to
develop relationships with each of you. Thank you for the graciousness you have extended me. You
have made me feel very welcome and I look forward to serving you. Please stop in the Chamber Office
to say “hi” or share an idea with me. Rumor has it that there are some tasty chocolates on my desk. Barbara Den Herder

STIMULUS 2013!
$$ It’s Back! $$
What is Stimulus? Stimulus is a program that al-lows the purchase of Chamber Gift Certificates at a discount, and it has proven successful in keeping local dollars circulating in Sioux Center. Did you know? Each dollar spent at a locally owned store is usually spent 6 to 15 times before it leaves the community. From $1, you create $5 to $14 in value within the community. Since 2009 the Executive Board has made a commit-ment to our Chamber member businesses by making a Stimulus Package available in Chamber Gift Certifi-cates. Gift Certificates can be purchased at a discount with a $300 maximum purchase per family/business.
The Board has again made a commitment to fund this program for the 2013 Holiday Season with a goal of increasing the amount of gift certificates available from $75,000 to $100,000. This will allow even more people to benefit from this program. However, they are again putting out a challenge to our membership. They are giving you the opportunity to partner with them in to make this increased amount a reality. You will soon receive a letter in the mail with more information. Any questions? Please contact us at the Chamber Office!
