• Depression and PTSD with SA Higher

• Mortality rate higher more than 50% for women

• Because of hormone fluctuations women can become intoxicated quicker then males (NIIA)

Women and Addiction

• 40 percent of all substance abusers are women

• Women get less treatment than men

• Family issues –women more likely to be scorned

• Workplace –often like males able to hide

• Women will visit Drs for illnesses a stomach pains etc and not realize they are addicted

• NIDA – MDs prescribe twice as many psychotropic drugs for women

• Sex and alcohol
