The Ten Week Challenge
Monitor the attitude of our hearts.

Pray for God to search our hearts and show us wounds that need to be forgiven.
Make the decision to forgive and work the steps to forgiveness.

Eph. 6:11-12 – Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh
and blood, but against the
rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, against the spiritual
forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
There are two types of scars
physical scars
We’ve all got ‘em…
Every scar tells a story…
Where do these scars come from?
Eph. 2:1-3As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
Where do these scars come from?
Eph. 2:1-3
Sin in our lives
Deep wounds were inflicted
People have hurt us
How did these wounds heal?
Eph. 2:4-5But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
God’s love and mercy healed them.
Only the scars remain.
Why are these scars significant?
They are in our hearts.
They are healed wounds from our pasts.
They can keep us from moving forward.
What are they NOT for?
To produce guilt in our lives.
To keep us down.
To prevent us from enjoying God’s grace.
What are they for?
To keep us humble. (2 Cor. 12:7-9)
2 Cor. 12:7-9Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
What are they for?
What are they for?
To keep us humble. (2 Cor. 12:7-9)
To remind us of God’s love. (Col. 1:12-14)
Col. 1:12-14…and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

What are they for?
To keep us humble. (2 Cor. 12:7-9)
To remind us of God’s love. (Col. 1:12-14)
To make us wiser.
To help us share each other’s struggles.
To make us totally reliant upon God.
