Book Exchange Warehouse
About our team
• Win Win Team! is composed of HR professional Dimpy Jazmines Professor and technopreneur Cardino “Kit” Yee Freelance editor and MA student Linette Pascual-Paras
• All are based in the Philippines
Our final project
Book Exchange Warehouse • A physical and online store
where students can buy, sell or exchange used academic textbooks at significantly reduced prices
We tested our value proposition
• Our most important concern: if our customers need the service that we are offering
• How we did our test: Conducted a survey of 40
respondents, and supplemented it with face-to-face interviews
Are they interested in our solution?
• Yes, they were, but there is currently no strong demand for it, as people still prefer to buy new books over used ones
Are they willing to pay for it?
• Yes, but the used book’s overall quality has to be acceptable to the customer
Do the customers have the problem that you think they do?
• Yes, it was evident from the responses we received that there is currently no convenient avenue for them to buy or sell used textbooks.
How are they currently solving it?
• Due to the unavailability of second-hand textbooks that are in good condition and an established venue where such can be bought, majority of the respondents simply buy new ones.
How much do they pay for the solution?
• Whether buying brand-new because they do not have a choice, or ordering online at an even much higher cost, the consumers are paying a lot, and losing money as well (lost opportunities to profit from selling used books).
Is there a different problem that they are much more interested in having you solve for them?
• No. A majority of our respondents appreciated our solution, but people generally need to be more
aware and supportive of the practice of buying used books.
Will we pursue the same idea, or will we change to a new idea based on feedback?
• We can opt to modify the idea by initially doing an online store rather than a brick-and-mortar one. If the online store is deemed successful then that's the time we will invest in a physical store.
