Americas prior to the arrival of the Europeans.

Introduction

Task

You are a group of historians on a research into the pre-Columbian civilisations.

Process

First, work in three different groups and answer the following questions:What are the pre-Columbian civilisations?

Then, choose one civilisation and find out some interesting facts about it. Group number 1: Who are the Aztecs?Group number 2: Who are the Incas?Group number 3: Who are the Mayas?

Look for…

Images, Their history,Their location, Their costumes, art,Their mythology and religion,Their architecture, etc.

Organise these details into a power point/ prezi presentation. Create a slideshow as attractive as possible about the civilisation you have chosen.

Each presentation will be evaluated by peers and the teacher taking into account the items described below:

Layout: organisation of the information and images, clarity in the power point slides.

Task fulfillment (written part).

Oral presentation (oral part).

Conclusion

By the end of this webquest, you will know more about the pre-Columbian civilisations and how to use power point/ prezi. You will also have the possibility to do collaborative work and asses other students’ productions.
