Schools/settings use telephone consultation service with CLASS (Communication Language & Autistic Spectrum Support) team to discuss pupil’s social communication difficulties prior to completing Pupil Support Service referral form

Case closed to the M.A.A.T.

Final report sent out; onward referrals made

Parents invited to attend appointment for feedback

MAAT triage panel decision to proceed with next stage of ASD assessment.

Pupil to be offered an Autism Diagnosis Observation Schedule (ADOS) appointment

MAAT arrange for Developmental History (ADI-R) discussion with parent/s

ASD assessment recommended in report

C.L.A.S.S. visit school to observe pupil and complete Evaluation of Need (EoN) report

School complete Pupil Support Service Referral if deemed appropriate by C.L.A.S.S. after telephone consultation

School to complete M.A.A.T (Multiagency Autism Assessment Team) referral form and questionnaire.

Attach CLASS report plus at least 1 other professional report and send to Pupil Support Service (C.L.A.S.S. base)

Additional assessments if required (SLT, cognitive, play)

Draft report written to include all assessments undertaken. Report and additional information discussed at MAAT formulation meeting, outcome concluded and recorded.
