THE WALK FOR HUNGER 2011,MAY 1ST

Presentation by: Archish Sridhar

Its Sunday, I am participating in Walk for Hunger in Boston commons. By the way I am walking with my friend Adarsh. This year since I raised more than $500, I am part of the Heart and Sole group. They gave me a free walk for hunger T-shirt (Thanks to all of you)

This is the starting point of the walk. Today 42,000 people walked with us! Sidh and Nikhil (Adarsh’s brother) are especially interested in light key chains we received from Seven News.

Mile 1 and 2 we walked through Kenmore square. There my mom said to me and Adarsh “ I bet you couldn’t even talk after mile 10” and I said “ I bet we can!” Along the way there are mile markers. There are 9 check points in total and we get a map with the checkpoints on it. At every check point you get your map stamped.

On the way to mile 10 we are half way there!

Half

Time!

Do you remember my mom said that I could not even talk after mile 10….well here I am having fun.

After lunch at Admiral park in Watertown…we are on our way to Cambridge along Charles River.

5 more miles ! I am not going to quit now.

4 more miles ….I am going to make it at any cost.

The back-up stroller pusher We are very close now, 1.5 miles more to go.

1 more mile to go, this is awesome!

We are back at Boston on the memorial trail. I completed walking all 20 miles. At the end I got a certificate. Thank you for all your support and encouragement I could have not completed the walk without it. Thanks to the volunteers at Walk for Hunger for helping us through the walk by cheering us on and providing water at checkpoints.
