Centaurus 2013

In search of the “Alpha”

Centaurus is an initiative by the students of DR VN BRIMS in order to establish

excellence amongst the existing Management festivals. The event aims to bring

the students from B - Schools across Maharashtra to an intellectual platform to

unleash their true potential & to provide them with a learning experience for

future challenges.

General Rules & Guidelines

• All students must carry their Institute’s Identity Cards.

• All participants must assemble at the venue an hour prior to the events that they are

participating in.

• All students must maintain decorum in the Institute.

• Strict action will be taken against any form of indecent behavior.

• Elimination rounds would depend upon the number of participants.

Management Events

Mock Stock - (Are you the next Warren Buffet?)

Rules & Regulations:

• Number of Participants per Team – 3.

• Participants are requested to carry their own calculators.

• Game rules will be explained on the day of event.

Event will consist of 2 rounds.

Rules & Regulations:

3 Participants in one team.

2/3 Rounds depending on number of participants.

1 minute will be given to note down the points.

Debate will not exceed more the than 10 minutes.

Bid-O-Viti – (Buy – Make - Sell)

Rules & Regulations:

Each team will be provided with 100 points to buy the items from which you can develop a

new Product.

Each team will get 10 min to formulate your bidding strategy.

Try to buy maximum items from these 100 points by spending wisely.

Highest bidder will fetch the item (in case of tie the team which made the highest bid 1st

will get the item).

After bidding process each team will be given maximum 30 minutes to create a new

product from the purchased items.

Once the product is made each team will get 5min to sell that product, followed by 5min of

Q & A round by the judges.

Participants must wear footwear.

Sides will be decided by tossing a coin.

In appropriate behavior or use of foul language will result in disqualification.

Event Manager’s decision will be the final decision & no arguments will be entertained.

Rules & Regulations:

Qualifying Rounds – 3 rounds as Terrorists and 3 rounds as Counter-Terrorists. Those who

win 4 games first will be qualified.

Semi and Finals – 4 rounds as Terrorists and 4 rounds as Counter-Terrorists. Those who

win 5 games first will be qualified to finals. (1 tie breaker, if required.)

Every round will be of 1 min. 45 sec.

Participants found using cheat codes will be disqualified.

Starting amount is $ 10000.

Grenades allowed 1 & Flash 2.

EVENTS POINT SYSTEM

Winners of each of the events will be awarded 50 points that will be accumulated towards the

college name.

Runners up of each event will be awarded 20 points.

The college with the maximum points will be considered as the winner of the college trophy.

JOKER SYSTEM

College can put Joker on any event.

Maximum 3 Jokers allowed for Management and Sports events together.

If you wish to put Joker on any event, minimum 1 on management event is mandatory.

Events having joker will cost Rs. 10 extra.

Winner gets - 50 additional points on the winning event.

Runner up gets – 20 additional points
