A video game is an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device. The word video in video game traditionally referred to a raster display device. The electronic systems used to play video games are known as platforms; examples of these are personal computers and video game consoles.

VIDEO GAMES IN EDUCATION

Educational video games are sometimes referred to as ‘edutainment’ in the industry. Experts believe that these games make learning fun by using entertainment as an educational tool.

THERE ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF GAMES AVAILABLE

Those that are played online. Those on a computer. Those on a handheld device.

MAKE LEARNING FUN!

As teachers how do we better educate our pupils so that they;

Think for themselves. Fly through their exams. Have confidence speaking their second language, as well as being able to read and write in it?

ADVANTAGES Educational games help to improve their communication and problem solving abilities, alertness, locating things easily without straining too much and so on.

The children can learn different languages and at the same time, the video games are a manner very attractive and dynamic for teaching English them.

Educational computer games tap the motivational power of arcade game sand help your child learn. They combine academics and entertainment, and also teach computer skills.

DISADVANTAGES

The crowd that plays computer action games is children and they do everything that they can see. Computer action games are a bad example for children. Theses computer action games are very addictive and many children much time playing these games and they break the habit of playing educational games.

SUGGESTIONS Find games that require strategy and problem-solving skills. If they have an educational component, that's a bonus.

Talk to other parents for advice and suggestions of good games.

When choosing games for girls, look for ones that have strong, non-stereotypical female characters.

Find games that have the appropriate Entertainment for your child's age.

Look for games that are challenging and exciting without being violent.
