■ The UK Department of Health (DoH) haspublished long-awaited proposals for pricing,reimbursement and supply arrangements for genericdrugs under the NHS, says the Pharmaceutical Journal.Drug manufacturers will be allowed to set their ownprices in a competitive market, although in monopolyand near-monopoly situations, constraints on priceincreases will be imposed. Pricing and supplyproblems in the generic market in 1999 form the basisof the proposals.*
