energy.

cigarettes and pipes (the dried leaves of the tobacco plant).

hardened feces from the bowels”

Deficiency(noun) :A condition of not having

enough of something.

“An intense desire for some particular thing”

Thin in an attractive way .

Slim (adjective) :

“The condition of being habitually

or compulsively occupied with or

involved in something”

“The type of food you usually eat”

So a Balanced diet:provides for optimal growth and development.

A balanced diet means eating foodfrom all of thefour basic

foodgroups:

The milk group,The meat group,The fruit and vegetable group, and The grain group

Unbalanced diet :causes problems with maintenance of

body tissues, the brain and nervoussystem, and bones and muscles, it can also cause gaining weight and obesity.

“The condition of being very fat, in a way that is not

healthy. When a person’s weight (BMI) is 20% over the normal bodyweight for height

and age, they are considered obese.”

Obesity is a chronic disease.

BMI is :

Body mass index

Treatments for obesity:

Diet, behavior therapy, drugs, surgery.

Other than obesity, there are more eating-related disorders:

•Pica:A conditionparticularly

prevalent in childrenin which they eat things like dirt, wood, hair , and glass.

Bulimia Nervosa:A disorder of eatingtoo much and then the person makes him\her self vomit, plus the use oflaxatives, diuretics, and vigorous exercise.

All of these have severe consequences to a person’s health and can even cause

death IF NOT TREATED. Treatment is by going to a
