Twitter Lists are…

Twitter Lists are an easy way to organize and categorize who you follow into meaningful groups, and discover new people to connect with.

Why use lists?Organize what you are reading, create categories of people so you can hyper-focus on conversations and optimize your time on twitter

Where?

Click the gear in the top right corner of the webpage

Select Lists

To Create a new List

Click “Create List”

This will allow you to define your list and add members

Give your list a Name

Description and decide the privacy setting you would like

Private v. PublicMake your list Private if it is a group of people that you personally would like to group, but would not like to alert others of their location in this category. Private Lists are also not able to be subscribed to by others.

I create groups for people I connect with at conferences, for family members and for new news outlets, so I can hyper-focus on what one group is tweeting about.

Besides creating your own lists, you can subscribe to lists that other people create. This allows you see who others are following. It is a new way to discover new people to follower!

Others can add you to their lists. These are shown next to lists as “member of”

When you select this you will see lists that others have added YOU TO
