TRANSCRIPT
On December 17,2010 a first grader was on trial because he
decided to change the amount of money in his check. He admitted that he changed the check. The 1st grader was found guilty and
sentenced to community service. The staff at the Uptown City
Court are: Tia Edmond, man-ager, Ivori Martin, lawyer, Kobe
Kuykendall, judge, D’Quendre Williams & Brandon Williams. Tia’s job as the manager is to make sure that everybody is supposed to be doing their
assigned job. Ivori’s job as a lawyer is that she seeks jus-tice for citizen’s on trial and she makes sure the law is
followed. Uptown City Court would like to remind all citizens of Uptown City that it’s alsoim-portant to pay your tickets on
time.

I asked the yoga studio
questions about the change that
has happened. The yoga studio
is now the dance studio. They
do pop, rock, and hip hop danc-
ing. They thought they would
get more customers and they
did! They got the idea from the
times that Mrs.Urquhart let
them dance. I asked the employ-
ees and they said that they really
like the change!

Tyrie Hewell Wins Spelling Bee!
On, January 19, 2011 at Downtown Elementary Magnet Academy one morning at 8:30am a spelling bee was held. Third graders through fifth graders were there to watch the competition to see who the best speller in the school is. The spell-ing bee took place in the lunchroom. Our guest, Mr. Schwartz read the rules ,and gave the contestants a practice round. The first word given was turtle ,and the first missed word was worry. In the end, Destinee was the runner up and Tyrie won the competition with the word humidity. By Jesse Baker and Kevin Jackson

Christmas is here with joy of cheer & people are waiting to get their presents. They wake up in the morning ready to open and go outside to play all day . Children are outside playing with their cars ,dolls, balls and some people might be in the house playing their new video games!
