On Tuesday we went to see The Gingerbread Girl at The Reader Thea-ters. The actors put on a performance for us. There were many different characters like the ginger-bread girl and the sly fox. If you have read the book there

I asked the yoga studio

questions about the change that

has happened. The yoga studio

is now the dance studio. They

do pop, rock, and hip hop danc-

ing. They thought they would

get more customers and they

did! They got the idea from the

times that Mrs.Urquhart let

them dance. I asked the employ-

ees and they said that they really

like the change!

Tyrie Hewell Wins Spelling Bee!

On, January 19, 2011 at Downtown Elementary Magnet Academy one morning at 8:30am a spelling bee was held. Third graders through fifth graders were there to watch the competition to see who the best speller in the school is. The spell-ing bee took place in the lunchroom. Our guest, Mr. Schwartz read the rules ,and gave the contestants a practice round. The first word given was turtle ,and the first missed word was worry. In the end, Destinee was the runner up and Tyrie won the competition with the word humidity. By Jesse Baker and Kevin Jackson
