Trans hiatal esophagectomy

70 years old man .farmer from sulaimany .kurdistan regional government. Presented with dysphagia for one month duration. No any previous history of such complaint .The symtom was almost progressive.

No loss of weight, no loss of appetite. No other G I T problems.

Review of systems was normal.

Heavy smoker for 40 years .no history of alcohol ,no family history for cancer.

No previous history suggestive history of reflux disease.

Barium swallow was not conclusive.

OGD has revealed narrowing in the mid esophagus,with small ulcer area. Biopsy of the lesion has been performed, the result of which was squamous cell carcinoma of well differentiated type.

Pre operative staging was in favor of early cancer,no lymph nodes ,no liver metastasis.Normal thoracic imaging. T2 No Mo. And the operative finding was also confirming the same staging,

Trans hiatal esophagectomy was done for him. The slides has been provided as follows.
