Trustee Jeffery Wallace New President of Township Officials of Illinois
Trustee Jeffery M. Wallace was sworn in as President at the Annual Banquet on November 13 at the Springfield Hilton. Chief Justice Thomas Kilbride officiated over the ceremony. Trustee Wallace will serve a two-year term as President of the Township Officials of Illinois and will oversee the annual education program and the annual fall conference. There are 1,435 Townships in Illinois and he will visit many of these during his term. Trustee Wallace has served Joliet Township Government since first being appointed to the office of Town Collector in 1991 prior to his appointment as Trustee in 2002. He continues to serve the residents of Joliet Township as an elected Trustee.
Joliet Township Government officials were pleasantly surprised when they were awarded the Overall Award for the 2012 Mighty Message contest at the Annual Conference. News From The SupervisorTownship Website, Newsletter & Social Media Best In State
Joliet Township Government recently won top honors for our website — and more. We competed in the 15,000+ Township population category at the Township Officials of Illinois 105th Annual Conference held in Springfield on November 13, 2012. The conference brought together officials from over 1,400 Townships across Illinois to meet for educational sessions about local government issues.
In addition to the award for our website, we won the 2012 Mighty Message Contest “Message of the Year Award.” This award was given for overall excellence for our website, newsletter as well as our effective use of Social Media, specifically Facebook, for the Joliet Township Animal Control Center.
The award was in recognition of our efforts to effectively communicate current Township issues to our residents. It is always an honor to be recognized by your peers.
Important numbers you should know. Clip and save for easy reference
There are about 33,000 parcels of land located within Joliet Township. This amount varies somewhat because of the creation of new parcels and the consolidation of others. Assessed values in Joliet Township continue to decrease because of sales. It is important to remember that the State of Illinois Department of Revenue mandates using the 3 previous years of sales to determine the state
multiplier. The 2013 assessed value will be determined by the sales of 2010, 2011 and 2012. Joliet Township will have a negative factor again. The percentage will be between 8% and 15% for residential properties. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please contact our office.
