ThePublishingProcess

ScientiRicandengineeringconferencesandarchivaljournalsallhaveasimilarpublishingprocess.SpeciRiconeswillvaryfromthisgenericdescription,ofcourse.Conferencesmayhaveatwo-partsubmissionprocess,anabstractRirst,which,ifaccepted,leadstoinvitationforthefullpaper,orperhapsaposter.Journalsonlyacceptsubmissionsofcompletemanuscripts.Theexpectationisthattheworkisreadytopublish.

Ifyouonlyrememberonethingfromtheseseminars,makeitthis:“Writeasyougo”Keepgoodnotesandcaptureyourideas,progress,andunderstandinginwelllabeledelectronicRilesthroughoutyourthesiswork.Itishardtorememberevenimportantideasmonthsafterthefact.Writingasyougowillmakeproducingyourthesis,andmanuscripts,MUCHMUCHeasier(andfastertoo).
