The bridge is normally closed to pedestrians, with the last crossing granted to U2 in 2010 after their concert in Istanbulgranted to U2 in 2010 after their concert in Istanbul.
In October 2011 12 TMs from Istanbul Cluster ran the world’s only yintercontinental run - the 33rd Eurasia race and raised 8,200 TRL (£2,843) which will be used for the repair and maintenance works of a dormitory building at a local elementary girls’ boarding school in the E T ki h i f VEastern Turkish province of Van.

Wildlife protection
Iztuzu beach is one of the world's few remaining breeding grounds for Loggerhead (Caretta Caretta) – hotel team at Hilton Dalaman Resort and Spa is heavily involved in education and turtle protection The team prepares wooden protections andturtle protection. The team prepares wooden protections and warning signs for the arrival of the sea turtles on the beach and the laying of the egg.
A couple of years ago a seagull built her nest on the roof of Hilton Izmir and the team made sure that the nest was not disturbed.
