Responding to God’s Call Exodus 3

• Moses encounter Gods - “Here I am” - Exodus 3:1-4

God initiates His call for His divine purposes

• Moses was given a divine command “take off your shoes” - Exodus 3:5

God establishes the boundaries because of His Holiness

• Moses hides from divine revelation – Exodus 3:6-9

But God knows and understands the human condition

• Moses doubts about his ability – Exodus 3:11-12

But God affirms His presence with those He calls

• Moses receives his commission – Exodus 3:13-20

And God declares who He is and what He will do!

• Moses obeyed but was dismayed by the results – Gen 5

“may the Lord look upon you and judge you (Moses)” (v 21)

“Moses…said “O Lord, why have you brought trouble” (v 22)

• Moses confronts a discouraged people - Gen 6

“…but they did not listen… because of their discouragement…” (v 9)

• Moses receives reassurance from the Lord – Gen 7

“…will know that I am the Lord when I….” (v 5)

• Moses therefore found the favor of the Lord

Effectual Revival Prayer Exodus 32-34

• Moses boldly entreats the Lord based on God's reputation.

“Turn your fierce anger, relent, and do not bring disaster…remember Abraham, Isaac and Jacob” (32:12-13)

• Moses self-sacrificially intercedes for God's people. “please forgive their sin—but if not, then blot me out of the book” (32:32)

• Moses relentlessly pleads for God's presence. If your Presence

does not go with us, do not send us up from here. (33:15)

• Moses passionately desires to see God's glory. then Moses

said, "Now show me your glory."
