TM ® WORSHIP 13 UNIT 3. SESSION 4 The Holy Spirit Helps Us Pray ROMANS 8:18-30 From Romans 1:1-15: Paul had friends he had not met yet! These friends were followers of Jesus who lived in Rome. Paul had not been to Rome, but he had heard about the faith of these believers and wrote a letter to encourage them. “I want very much to come see you,” Paul wrote. “I pray for you constantly. I am eager to preach the good news of Jesus in Rome!” The letter Paul wrote to the believers in Rome is in your Bible. It’s the Book of Romans. Some of the letter is about how Jesus died for the sins of all people. Another part of the letter encourages Christians to live in ways to please God. This part talks about praying faithfully, even when times are hard. Here is some of what Paul said in his letter: “The hard times we are going through are nothing compared to the glory God will show us some day! Those of us who are saved from sin have hope. We can wait patiently for the good things God has planned for us. “When we pray, God’s Spirit helps us. We don’t always know exactly how to pray, but the Holy Spirit does. He prays with us and for us in ways that are better than our own words. God searches our hearts, and He hears when the Holy Spirit is praying for us. “All things—good and bad—work together for the good of people who love God.
