Methodology Data collected through online media was analyzed by quantitative and qualitative methods, including such parameters as number of mentions in various online media and sentiments (positive, negative or neutral).The way to obtain the most relevant and complete selection of mentions to the desired subject of research were set up and configured for accurate detection of mentions keywords and stop-words. The study was conducted via monitoring system «SemanticForce».

Analyzed the information field in the segments of the print and online media for seven key parties: Party of Regions, All-Ukrainian Union Fatherland (United Opposition), People's Union "Our Ukraine", Communist Party of Ukraine, Party Ukraine – Forward!, All-Ukrainian Union "Freedom", Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform Vitaliy Klychko. The study period is taken from 1 August to 10 October 2012. In the print media favorite most frequently mentioned - Party of Regions with 2024 publications. In second place - Ukrainian Union Fatherland (United Opposition), which was mentioned in 959 articles. Together, the number of references to the power of opposition parties is 3216 entries.

In the segment of online media leader by the number of mentions with a significant margin is the Party of Regions - 44,042 posts. The share of the media presence of the party in the general data (no duplicates) to 7 parties is 45%. The total volume of mentions of opposition parties including the Communist Party of Ukraine - 55% of the total range or 53,692 publications without duplicates.

TOP 20 Ukrainian online media sources were preselected for the qualitative analysis. According to the study it can be concluded that Party of Regions is being most frequently specified in negative context. In general, the array is fixed 5% of positive mentions and 24% negative. For the All-Ukrainian Union Fatherland (United Opposition) share of positive and negative mentions of 7% and 8% respectively. Party of Regions more often than their opponents, is mentioned in the context of punctuated criticism of journalists, experts, representatives of other political forces - 19% of the mentioning. For the All-Ukrainian Union Fatherland (United Opposition) indicator of accentuated criticism against them is 7%.

Typical is distribution of sentiment in the statements of speakers of the Party of Regions and the All-Ukrainian Union Fatherland (United Opposition). Key context of the statement from the Party of Regions were the achievements and initiatives of the party, the government - 125 positive references. The discourse of the All-Ukrainian Union Fatherland (United Opposition) speakers built mostly on criticizing actions of the Party of Regions and its members - 172 mentions.
