What is Feedback? Feedback can be defined as:

A process wherein information is given about a person’s performance of a task by another person. The information that is given is often used as a basis for improvement.

There Are Two Kinds of Feedback

Constructive feedback is the kind of feedback almost everybody wants, but not everybody gets. Constructive feedback is first and foremost helpful. It identifies a problem and provides a useful solution.

Unhelpful feedback focuses on factors that are outside the person’s control. It is based on personal and at times impractical prejudices. It does not hold any value for the person receiving it.

Most employees know the difference between good and bad feedback. Then why is good feedback so rare?
