FENCINGIn recent years an increased emphasis on Health & Safety in the
Construction Industry has resulted in a number of fundamental
changes in the normal working practices of the General
Construction Company. In short the HSE has forced the
Construction Industry to work safer, and provide a safer
environment for the general public. As a result many new safety
products have evolved to cater for these new requirements, one
of which has been Modular Temporary Fencing, which has become
almost mandatory in use, and has virtually made traditional timber
hoarding and temporary chain-link fencing extinct.
The modern day temporary fencing system comprises of three main
components:The Temporary Fence Panel, Footing (Concrete or
Thermo-Plastic) and Coupler. When used together the Temporary
Fencing system provides a method of site protection that promotes
safety and security, whilst being versatile and economical in use.
The Temporary Fencing system is most commonly used in or around
construction sites, for keeping workers and the general public away
from construction hazards, however there are a number of other
common applications such as: Site Perimeter Fencing at pop
concerts, fairs and exhibitions as well as traffic containment at road
works, temporary car parks etc.
Anti-Climb Temporary Fencing
The Anti-Climb range of temporary fence panels were specially
designed to conform with the HSE (Health & Safety Executive) G.S.7
recommendation that has recently been superceded with HS (G)
151 which is a guidance note on the prevention of accidents to
children on construction sites. Please note all Offshore Scaffolding
Sales Anti-Climb Temporary Fence panels conform with the latest
HSE recommendations.
The Anti-Climb Range has a special close mesh aperture and is
ideally suited to use in areas which have general public access. The
Anti-Climb range is the preferred product of the Hire Industry
because of its all-round general use and durability.

TEMPORARY HOARDING
Block Trays and Hoarding
Temporary hoarding is a relatively new product in the market
and combines many of the same features and benefits of
modular temporary fencing, with the added security and
privacy of a solid opaque hoarding system.
31www.offshorescaffoldingsales.com
PEDESTRIAN FENCING
Offshore Scaffolding Sales Ltd. offer a
variety of different barrier types and
sizes, however in general all barriers are
manufactured with a formed tubular
frame and offer a choice between a
welded mesh and solid bar infill. As
standard all barrier systems are hot-dip
galvanised for durability, or as an addition a powder coating
option can be supplied to match a corporate image.
Pedestrian Barriers are most commonly seen at outdoor
events where the safe direction of pedestrian traffic is required
however; they can also be seen on Construction Sites and
Road Works.
The Mesh Barrier is constructed from heavy gauge tube and
has a welded mesh infill, making it very strong and durable,
whilst being light and easy to handle. The 3.5mtr span of the
mesh barrier combines economy and strength with fewer
components per metre, which makes it the ideal choice for the
construction industry.
The Fixed Leg Pedestrian Barrier is a unique, one piece
barrier which has been specially designed for the events
industry, where speed of erection/dismantle and security are
the main concern. The barrier is similar in specification to the
bar barrier with the addition of heavy gauge tubular feet which
are permanently welded to the frame in an offset position,
which make them ideal for stacking when not in use.
