The Good School

By: Meghan Killian And Katherine Schwakoff

The Bonner and Prendie Students and faculty were in the Bonner Auditorium one day, awaiting the announcement of their school’s fate.

Everybody had high hopes and expectations. But suddenly, emotions changed when the Blue Ribbon Commission recommended That their school be closed.

Immediately following the

dreadful announcement,

news crews and other

students fromseparate schools

began to torment them.

All over social media, people made rude comments on the topic that angered and upset many

Bonner and Prendie students.

And countless News Crews harassed students for more information about the

closing recommendat-ions. Which just continued to add to the students’ sadness.

The Bonner and Prendie Community were not going to give up that easily though. Father Olson, decided to start an appeal process to help the students and faculty save the place they call home.

Numerous fundraisers, prayer services and pep rallies were held in the days following the awful announcement.

The Archdiocese could only stand by and watch as the students of

Archbishop Prendergast and Monsignor Bonner tirelessly tried to raise money for their

school.

The Principal and the Archdiocesetold these students to begin searching and shadowing at other schools. But most students wanted to wait and find the fate of their schools before having to look at any other…

Because they knew where their heart belonged.

Father Olson truly stayed strongduring this difficult time, and helpedthe community to stay positive. He organized an appeal and set a goal for the school to raise 5 million dollars…

…AND WE DID IT!

Father Olson may not have been able to address this situation by himself, but the strong group of alumni were able to back him up.

But for now, the Bonner and Prendie Community can only

hope and pray that their school will be

saved this Friday!
