StatementofIntentThisdocumentisintendedtospecifytherequiredcredentialsforteacherspresentingtheIPFWVisualCommunicationandDesign202courseaspartoftheCollegiateConnectionProgramandtobeaplanningresourcefortheprospectiveinstructorandtheIPFWDepartmentRepresentative(“facultyliaison”)whomentorsandsupervisestheIPFWCollegiateConnectionProgram.VCD-202isintendedtointroducethestudenttothebasicunderstandingofphotographyinrelationshiptoboththefineartsandtheapplicationofphotographytocommunicationdesign.Basicuseofthecamera,darkroom,anddigitalapplicationswillbeintroduced.

Requirements

1. Tobeaccepted,teachersareexpectedtohaveaMaster’sdegreeinthevisualartswithamajorinPhotography,oradegreeinArtEducationwithPhotographyasadisciplinebaseMaster’sdegreeinanotherfieldwithatleast18graduatecredithoursinarelevantfield.Inrarecircumstances,thedepartmentmayacceptsomeonewithwhatthedepartmentconsidersequivalentknowledgeandskilllevel.

2. TeachersmusthavebeenteachingPhotographyatthehighschoollevelforatleastthreeyears.3. Acceptableteachersmusthaveearnedamaster’sdegreeinPhotographyorArtEducationwith

Photographyasadisciplinebase,oranotherareawithatleast18graduatelevelhourscompletedinPhotographyorArtEducation.

4. TeacherswillparticipateinthestudentportfolioreviewexercisesheldonceeverysemesterintheIPFWDepartmentofVisualCommunicationandDesign.

5. TeacherswillberequiredtoattendtheopeningreceptionsofallseniorexhibitionsorganizedbytheIPFWDepartmentofVisualCommunicationandDesign.

6. ThechairpersonoftheIPFWDepartmentofVisualCommunicationandDesignwillapproveallcoursesyllabi.
