3. Pressdownonthepaneluntilitclicksshutandensurethereisabitofpaperstickingoutfromthechamberthatittouchesthetopoftheterminalscreen.

TerminalsecurityItistheMerchant’sresponsibilitytosecuretheirterminal,anyuserIDsorpasswordsandtopreventunauthorizeduse.InanyeventtheMerchantwillbeliableforanyunauthorizeduseoftheterminaloranyuserIDsorpasswords.Therearetwousersecuritysettings:
No security (Default)ThissettingdoesnotuseuserIDsandpasswords.Merchantsthatchoosetousenosecuritystillhavetheoptiontosetupastore/manageroverrideIDandpasswordtoaccessareasoftheterminalthathaveamandatoryrequirementforsupervisorpassword.

• SignatureThecardissuerdetermineswhenasignaturesisrequiredforatransaction.
• ApprovedAlwaysensurethatthetransactionwasapprovedasitcouldbeDECLINED.
Business Day FunctionsTostartabusinessday,logontoaterminalthathashadthedayclosefunctionperformedonit.Dependingonthelogonmethod,itmaybeassimpleasauserperformingtransactionstoenteringalogonIDandpassword.
PerformingdaycloseYouhaveadeadlinetoperformadayclose.Thisiscalledyourbalancingwindowanditissetonthesystem.Ifyourdaycloseisdonebeforeyourbalancingwindowends,you’llreceivesameornextbusinessdaydepositforcreditanddebitcardtotals.Otherwise,theywillbeforwardedtothenextbusinessday.
Youmustcloseyourbusinessdayoneach terminalinordertomaintainaccuraterecordsandbalanceyouraccounts.Closingthebusinessdayisimportantasit:
• Sendsanystoredtransactions(SAFs).
• Closesallopenbatches.
• Printsselectedreports.
• Checksformail,anddownloads.
• Downloadsavailableupdates.
• Startsanewbusinessdayontheterminalbyopeninganewbatch.

1. ConfirmthatyouwanttoContinue. Oncetheprocessisstartedensurethattheterminalisnotuseduntilthedaycloseiscompleted.
2. Selectyourreportdeliverymethod(DISPLAYorPRINT).Dependingonhowyouhavesetupyourdayclose,certainreportswillprint.
A day close is automatically performed on your terminal every three to five business days if one isn’t performed sooner by you.
