beats• Checked their own pulse (at rest and
after exercise)• Used a pulse oximeter to monitor their
oxygen saturation levels• Dissected a pig's heart.

The Bare Bones
Grade 6 students • Looked at all 206 bones in the
human body• Analyzed and handled both a healthy
human lung and a smoker’s lung• Yale continues to look for curricular
connections.

Race Brook Pennies for Peck
Two Race Brook School brothers drove by Peck Place School and saw the dumpsters.
They decided they wanted to help. Soliciting the support of the Race Brook
Student Council, the school ran a drive called “Pennies for Peck” and collected $386
to help replace lost materials.
