HERITAGE DINNER ALL ARE INVITED
All are welcome to the “new member” dinner in the church basement on
September 11, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. The heritage menu will feature items from our forefather’s past. Swedish meat balls, hard
tack, pickled beets and lime Jell-O with a twist of today’s ingredients are a portion of the menu. There will be a demonstration
of lefse and krumkake with tasty samples. Help us rejoice about new faces
along with a hearty taste of yester years morsels.
Trinity hosted the Bike & Build group overnight on August 22nd! Huge thanks to Bob Lurry, Pete Sathre, and Al (Pete’s brother), who prepared dinner and a breakfast for the bikers! Bike & Build is a nonprofit group that rides to support affordable housing. The following is their description of the Pacific Northwest Ride. Peddling for affordable housing. Empowering young adults for a lifetime of service.
Starting in Portland, OR and ending in Bellingham, WA, Drift West participants spend 3 weeks and 950 miles exploring the highlight reel of the Pacific Northwest. Geographic icons like the Hoh Rain Forest, Olympic National Park, Mt Rainier, Deception Pass, and the San Juan Islands are punctuated by “megacity” celebrities Portland and Seattle, allowing riders to experience the area’s renowned cultural and topographic diversity in full. With build days in bewitchingly beautiful cities like Neah Bay and Friday Harbor, Drift West’s five build days are just as impressive as the surrounding terrain and feature a different affordable organization at each stop. Smaller affordable housing organizations like Makah Housing Authority and San Juan Community Home Trust who do local, specialized work are a primary feature of Drift West and afford riders a
variegated perspective of affordable housing issues.

November 12th Celebration Dinner for our
church family & your friends.
The point of Unbinding Your Heart is to anchor new ideas of prayer, faith, sharing and rich
Christian community in all church members, hearts, souls and habits!
One goal is to help every small group in the church, every member and every steady visitor of TLC
to experience a six-week small-group experience in prayer, faith, and faith sharing.
Prayer will be an essential element for the church study of Unbinding Your Heart. Prayer is a
crucial component of faith and evangelism. Prayer is opening ourselves to God. Prayer is helping our
dear church members learn that God loves them. The triple focus is: (1) individual, (2) small group, and
(3) whole-church saturation of prayer.
A saturation experience can get us talking for real. It can move us into significant prayer, powerful
worship, and create life-long connections – dear friendships, anchored in bedrock. That’s the kind of
faith that people talk about with their friends. That is a living faith that shifts into faith-sharing.
The purpose of our all-congregation study isn’t to talk people into the idea of doing evangelism.
The aim is to help our church people develop their own faith and learn to talk about it- with each other.
A study of Unbinding Your Heart is really aimed at the intricate, inside experience of the church.
It’s not like sales training. It’s more like family camp. If our church family loved God and loves each
other, the neighbor “kids” will want to come over and hang out at our house- because it’s fun and they
can talk for real.
That’s why we are doing an all-church study of Unbinding Your Heart.

In July our church sent our youth on a mission trip to serve the Northern Cheyenne people in Mon-tana. Here we painted houses, led sport camps & day camps, cleaned yards, and led prayer walks. The wonder of the cross became evi-dent in two specific ways on this trip. One experience happened on the first day of sports camp. Due to the commu-nity pow wow, no children showed up to camp. Instead the group went for a hike up a local hill. And on the top of that hill, they found a cross that had fallen. Our team put the cross back up. On the cross, the words “Jesus Gave It All” had been painted on the wood. God brought our group to that hill to remind us of His Redeeming Work to all the world. He gave it ALL, and we as His workers are simply to share that Good News by pointing to the cross and the love of Christ Jesus. The other experience happened through cross necklaces that my dad made for every participant. Everyone was to keep one cross and give another to someone who we saw God reveal Himself
through. As the week progressed, we saw crosses everywhere. On the children at the sport camps, on the leaders of the Cheyenne community, on the local Baptist preacher who taught us about the power of prayer, on YouthWorks leaders, and on each other. And that is the wonder of the cross...that God works in His Broken people to show others the mercy and grace of Himself. The cross is what we hold up for others to see—on a hill, around our necks—and in the deep love we show oth-ers. “Jesus Gave It All” In the Wonder of the Cross,
