OIDEAS GAELThe ever-increasing interest inIreland’s language and cultureboth nationally and internation-ally, has made Gleann CholmCille, Gleann Fhinne and ToryIsland, in Donegal, the holidaydestinations of choice for adult

Irish language learners and cul-tural holiday enthusiasts.

In 2018, varied courses at-tracted people from over 30 dif-ferent countries withparticipants from several differ-ent nationalities attendingweekly.

Courses are suited to indi-viduals who are out of touchwith Irish but are keen to brushup on their conversationalGaeilge. Moreover, the coursesare attracting growing numbersof absolute beginners from Ire-land and from different nation-

school flagship program offerseight levels of Irish classesevery morning as well as after-noon workshops in set andsean-nós dancing and singing,tin whistle, bodhrán, hill walk-ing and Irish songs.

Holiday courses offered overthe summer include Hill-walk-ing on Sliabh Liag, Archaeol-ogy, Marine Painting,Landscape & Environment,Digital photography, tapestryweaving, harp, flute & bodhrán.

TORY ISLANDOideas Gael, again this year,will present a special course onthe language and cultural richesof Tory Island. The course, di-rected at fluent speakers, willoffer an opportunity of interact-ing with the local communityand enjoying a unique andmemorable Irish welcome.

According to Director, LiamÓ Cuinneagáin, the cosmopoli-tan mix of attendees, is boostedby Tourism Ireland’s promo-tion of the ‘Wild Atlantic Way’as well as Donegal being se-lected as the coolest place on thePlanet by The National Geo-graphic.
