In 2018, varied courses at- tracted people from over 30 dif- ferent countries with participants from several differ- ent nationalities attending weekly. Courses are suited to indi- viduals who are out of touch with Irish but are keen to brush up on their conversational Gaeilge. Moreover, the courses are attracting growing numbers of absolute beginners from Ire- land and from different nation- alities. The end of July summer school flagship program offers eight levels of Irish classes every morning as well as after- noon workshops in set and sean-nós dancing and singing, tin whistle, bodhrán, hill walk- ing and Irish songs. Holiday courses offered over the summer include Hill-walk- ing on Sliabh Liag, Archaeol- ogy, Marine Painting, Landscape & Environment, Digital photography, tapestry weaving, harp, flute & bodhrán. TORY ISLAND Oideas Gael, again this year, will present a special course on the language and cultural riches of Tory Island. The course, di- rected at fluent speakers, will offer an opportunity of interact- ing with the local community and enjoying a unique and memorable Irish welcome. According to Director, Liam Ó Cuinneagáin, the cosmopoli- tan mix of attendees, is boosted by Tourism Ireland’s promo- tion of the ‘Wild Atlantic Way’ as well as Donegal being se- lected as the coolest place on the Planet by The National Geo- graphic.
