SAY Yes! COVID TestOn Saturday, May 29th, members of The Chat-

tanooga Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, in part-nership with Hamilton County Health Department, in partnership with CDC and NIH, assisted with the project to provide service to our community by dis-tributing and facilitating access for the free, rapid COVID-19 test kits to individuals traveling in the 3800 block of Brainerd Road. At 12:30 on Thursday, June 3rd, “Extra! Extra! Read All About It!”-- will be the chant of Boys Prep students dressed as 1920’s newsies (Newspaper boys) as they hand out an educational news-paper on both ends of the Wal-nut Street bridge. Inside will be pictures and information about several historical events from Black Wall Street, Ed Johnson, and Juneteenth, to the Big Nine (MLK in Chatta-nooga) and the businesses that lined that street.

This comes a part of a month-long Juneteenth In-dependence Day celebration presented by the 4th Annual Chattanooga Festival pf Black Arts & Ideas: Juneteenth In-dependence Day. The multi-disciplinary festival aims to spotlight emerging and es-tablished local Black artists and build greater community awareness of the diversity of Black arts within Chattanooga and Hamilton County, says festival founder and CEO Ri-cardo “Ric” Morris. The event will also provide opportuni-ties for discussions on topics that connect Black arts to oth-er areas of the life of the com-munity.
