What do we mean by “Multiple Locations”? Single Account Strategies

◦ Asset, PM and Work Order Strategies◦ Inventory Strategies

Multiple Account Strategies◦ Data Publisher◦ Consolidation of Multiple Datasets

Questions and Answers Wrap-Up and Summary

What are “Multiple Locations”?

One or more “Datasets” (accounts or systems) More than one group of things that are

handled separately◦ A group of assets, such as buildings in 2 physical

areas◦ More than one actively managed storeroom◦ More than one dataset

Multiple dataset strategies offer additional options

Single Account Strategies Multiple sites separated by the “Site” data field◦Assets◦Work Orders

Managing PMs using the “Site” field

Generating PMs using the “Site” field

Single Account Strategies “Site” field

◦ Assets◦ Work Orders◦ PMs

PM Management PM Generation

Multiple Storeroom Locations◦ Each storeroom can have same parts

Different Order Points and Quantities Different On Hand Quantities

◦ Each storeroom orders and issues individually

Multiple Account Strategies

Requires an extra dataset – a Master Account

◦Library of Assets and/or Parts

◦Used to populate the active accounts Master Account View Data Publisher Tool Searching for parts across other sites

Benefits of Data Publisher Create one of each type of common asset Create the “Bill of Materials” for each Create the PM schedule and tasks Each active account can import the generic

asset from the master account It is already set up with parts and PMs, all

that must be done is to change the Asset ID and enter any specific information desired (serial number, etc.)

Copy/Add will allow you to duplicate the new asset as needed

Can use all techniques we just covered with or without consolidation

The consolidated account allows easy global reporting

Can add a consolidated account at any time – does not have to be set up from the beginning

Each site maintains its own system (dataset)

Data from each site processed into one Consolidation Dataset at regular intervals

Each site can access the consolidated account

Create your own global reports by using the X3 Query Builder◦ Filter by site◦ Download to Excel for Management
