Journey to Central America… This term in year 5 the children will be exploring the culture and ancient/ modern traditions of Mexico & Central America.

In Literacy we will be learning about the hardship of life in the slum areas of Central and South America through the text 'Trash’ By Andy Mulligan. We will design and write our own Jumanji boardgames and stories. Alongside this we will use themes from the Disney film CoCo, research plastic pollution and read Holes by Louis Sachar. In Maths we will be working on place value understanding and deepening understanding of mental and written calculations.
