SUNDAY REFLECTION
Strive to enter through the narrow gate. Today we are given fair warning by Jesus that we should strive earnestly to enter the kingdom of God, and not simply assume a place will be reserved for us. So let’s make an effort, as we travel the path of discipleship, to travel lightly, unencumbered by unnec-essary attachments to the things of this world. In the first reading, God proclaims that he comes to gather all nations. The second reading exhorts the Christian community not to disdain discipline, as it originates from God’s love. In the Gos-pel from Luke, Jesus tells his followers to strive for salvation through the narrow gate.
