Did You Know?
On June 29th we celebrate the
Solemnity of St. Peter and St. Paul. These apostles are two of the most well-known saints and often viewed as two men most responsible for spreading Jesus’ message in the early days of the Church. So why do we celebrate these great men on the same day? Legend has it that they were executed on the same day under the command of Emperor Nero.
St. Augustine of Hippo wrote about these faithful saints in his sermon in the year of 395, “Both apostles share the same feast day, for these two were one. Peter went first and Paul followed. And so we celebrate this day made holy for us by the apostles’ blood. Let us embrace what they believed, their life, their labors, their sufferings, their preaching and their confession of faith.”

SCHEDULES
Garage Sale July 12-14
Get a jump on FPP hours for next year by helping to plan or work at the Church garage sale in July. This is a fun way to earn those hours and make new friends doing it. The St. Paul Garage Sale is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Help us make it the best one yet. Sign–up forms are available in the back of the Church.
No Ministry Groups June 25 - 29
Due to our annual Vacation Bible School, the Parish Center will not be available for Parish Ministry gatherings this week.
Save the Date September 19 at 7:00 pm
New York Times best-selling author, Jane Kirkpatrick, will present “Frontier Faith and Courage” in the Parish Hall. Join us as Jane talks about faith and courage in today’s world with her humorous and thought-provoking manner.
The presentation is sponsored by the Women of St. Paul as a fundraiser for the Parish Hall kitchen and as an in-spirational evening for the community. Light refreshments will be served. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Purchase your tickets for only $10 at the door.
Marist Openings
There are limited spots available for incoming sophomores and juniors for the 2018-19 school year at Marist Catholic High School. Equal Access Tuition funds are available for new students. Call the admissions office at 541-681-5464 for more information.
Building Survey Participation Needed
Soon we will conduct a comprehensive survey of the entire parish and we ask for your participation. Our development firm, The Steier Group, will compile information from this coming survey and present it to our parish boards. But, before we make any final decisions regarding the long-range plans for St. Paul Parish and School, we would like to hear from you.
Share your thoughts regarding parish needs and the possibility of conducting a major fundraising effort. Your feedback will enable us to determine potential support for the master plan projects. If we, as a faith community, choose to move forward, the planning study will also provide us with information to identify prospective campaign leaders and to establish a realistic campaign goal. Watch for communication about this important survey in the near future.
Food Pantry Needs
The Saint Vincent de Paul food pantry is running low on non-perishable food items. Please consider helping those in need by donating the following:
Granulated Sugar
Jams and Jellies
Pancake Mix
Maple Syrup
Flour
Simply leave them in the SVdP basket.
Congratulations to the family of Elijah and Emerson Whittaker
who were baptized at St. Paul Church recently.
We pray that the light of Christ’s grace will shine forever in their lives.
Summer Craft for A Cause
The Women of St. Paul are coordinating the Holiday Bazaar being held this November. We would like to offer home-made crafts and baked goods supplied by parishioners to help support our Church and her mission. November has a way of sneaking up on us, so keep sewing and crafting any items you may wish to donate to the bazaar. This year we are excited to open the bazaar to individual vendors so spread the word More information about the Holiday Bazaar to come in future Bulletins.
If you are looking for craft ideas or you are interested in a social crafting group, come to Craft & Coffee. They meet alternating Wednesdays at 1:30 pm in the Parish Center. The next meetings will be July 18 and 25.
