Did you know?
Gregorian chant is sung prayers and is the earliest form of liturgical music that was written and preserved for the historical record. It had lost its popularity with the change from the Latin Mass requirement after the Second Vatican Council. Gregorian chant has regained popularity in the past few decades. Some attribute the gain in interest to its health benefits. It has been shown to increase endorphins while lowering blood pressure and reducing anxiety and depression. You can find many hours of Gregorian Music on YouTube, iTunes, and Spotify. Of course, there are good old fashioned CDs you can purchase. This busy holiday season, consider bringing spiritual calm to your home with Gregorian chant, music for the soul.
