It is hard to believe, but the students

are back in school and fall is upon us.

We have several events coming up that

may be of interest to you, including our 4th

Farm to Table Meal and a new adventure that

we are trying. It is called “Meet your

Neighbor” Farm Tour. We want to highlight

the wonderful agriculture and horticulture

that we have here in Spencer County. We

hope you can join us.

Support Your Farmers Market The Taylorsville/Spencer County

Farmers Market is now open. It will be open

beginning at 8 a.m. until noon or so. Some of

the vendors may stay past noon if there is a

crowd. The market will be open every

Saturday (rain or shine) until the end of

October. The market is located in downtown

Taylorsville.

There are always several vendors there

with fresh produce, breads, meats, and many

other items. If you’ve ever wondered where

your food comes from, you can meet the

people that are actually growing it at the mar-

ket. In fact, the market will be an integral

part of the Spencer County Meet Your

Neighbor Farm Tour.

If you are interested in becoming a

vendor, feel free to contact me for an

application.

Spencer Co. Farm to Table Meal

Enjoy a 5 Course Italian Meal, produced with Spencer County sourced and produced items, prepared by Josh Moore, Executive Chef of

Volare Ristorante.

Cost is $35 per person, with the proceeds benefitting the Spencer Co. 4-H Program.

The Spencer County Homemakers will also be hosting a silent auction as well.

Farm Tour

When: Saturday, September 17, 10:00 a.m.

Where: Start at the Taylorsville Farmers Market (closes at

noon or so) to get your map and then proceed to the Spen-

cer Co. Extension Office for a FREE Lunch beginning at

11:00 a.m. Then enjoy your afternoon touring Spencer

County. Please RSVP to 502-477-2217 by September 13

so that we will have enough food for everyone. We hope you

can join us!
