What is Sound
• Sound is the movement of energy through waves. Sound is produced when a force causes an object or substance to vibrate — the energy is transferred through the substance in a wave. Typically, the energy in sound is far less than other forms of energy.

When an object creates sound it produces sound pitch waves when the sound waves are long and thin the object is making a high sound. When the sound waves are short and thick the object is making low pitched sounds. sound waves look like this;
